S6 Not Connecting To Google Account

Problem: Couldn’t sign in (There was a problem connecting to accounts.google.com). As I have did the factory reset and trying to connect the phone but after that getting this error message and it will not allow me to get into the device. Now after trying many times still getting the same error message. As I believe there were few Android updates which were pending and I couldn’t complete them and did the factory reset. Now it wont allow the device to complete the updates as well. Kindly help me.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by your current Internet connection. Try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the same error message still appears. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone.
  • Make sure that the date and time of the phone are properly set.
  • Disable the installation of apps with unknown sources.
  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store app from the application manager.
  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Services app from the application manager.

S6 No Signal

Problem: Good day, My phone detects the presence of  the sim card in it but keeps displaying no signal message and enters emergency mode at times. When I try the same sim card on another phone, the network signal is perfectly o.k on the other phone. Please help with this is as I have tried the following without much success. Gone to settings and switched to different modes like gsm/cdma e.t.c. Done a factory reset.

Solution: Since the SIM card works when inserted to another phone then we can eliminate this. We can also eliminate the phone software as the culprit as you have already performed a factory reset. The most likely cause to this problem is a faulty hardware component. This could either be caused by a faulty SIM slot module or phone antenna. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Heats Up When Playing Games

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 fell from waist height. There were no cracks on the front and the back but my s6 has started heating even when I play games (like Payback 2) for 5 minutes. Please help

Solution: When you play games on your phone, especially games that are graphically intensive, it makes the processor work to its maximum level. This will then result to some heat generated by the device. If the heat is not too high then this is normal. However, if the phone gets unusually hot then this is going to be a problem. Since you mentioned that this problem occured after you dropped your phone then it’s very likely that this has affected some component inside the phone, possibly damaging some battery cells. Before bringing the phone to a service center for checking you should perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data.
  • Perform a factory reset.
  • Only install Payback 2 then check if the phone still heats up when you play the game. If it does then bring the phone to a service center.

S6 Gets Stuck In Samsung Logo Screen After Getting Wet

Problem: I submerged my phone for 15 seconds in pool.  After a week in rice, it will power sort of, going to the Galaxy S6 screen, but only if it’s plugged to a charger.   It’s less than a year old, not a scratch on it, not sure what to do with it.  Not covered under my warranty.

Solution: It’s very likely that the phone has already suffered from water damage. The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. You might need to connect the phone to its charger to do this. Take note that your phone data will be erased in the process.

In case the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Unfortunately App Has Stopped

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 is acting up every time I go to any app it says unfortunately this app has stopped I barely got on this page and yes I factory reset it twice and it’s still doing the same thing I can’t get on anything without it kicking me out.

Solution: What you will want to do in this particular case is to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If it is already running on the latest version and this issue still occurs then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the file from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone. I would suggest that before flashing your phone you make a backup copy of your phone data.

S6 Playing CD Format Files On Phone

Problem: I am learning French using the BBC “Talk French” books and CDs.  The audio files on the CD are xxx.cda files.  I want to load them onto my Galaxy S6 so I can listen on this device but cannot work out how to do this.  All the help seems to be music related.  I have copied the content of the CD to my HP Laptop and can play the audio files from there with no problem.

Solution: Since the music app of the phone can’t detect the CD file format you will need to convert the .CDA files to a format that the phone can read. You will need a computer as well as a CD ripper app to convert the .CDA files to MP3. Once the CD files have been converted or “ripped” into MP3 you can then copy the MP3 files to your phone and it will be recognized by the music app.

S6 Recent Button Not Working

Problem: My “recent” button (to the left of my home button) is no longer working. Is there a way to close all of the recent apps to help save on energy usage without using this button?  Better yet, can I fix the function of this button?

Solution: You should try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then there’s a chance that the problem is caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the recent button issue is still present. If it is then this is already a hardware related problem in which case you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Earbuds Not Working

Problem: Got my phone in November last year.  First time using the earbuds and nothing happens.  No documentation in the box I got the phone in.  Am I missing something? Also I cannot identify the Android version from my phone so I indicated ‘Other’

Solution: It’s possible that the problem is caused by a faulty pair of earbuds. You should try getting a new pair of earbuds then check if it works on your phone. Make sure to increase the volume level to its maximum level when checking the new earbuds.

If the same problem occurs then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.

  • Restart the phone.
  • Clean the audio port using a can of compressed air. You can also use a toothpick to clean this port.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
