S6 Not Charging After Getting Wet

Problem: My phone got wet and i dried it immediately and everything seemed to work just fine the next morning i tried to charge it but it doesn’t even respond when i plug it in either the battery thing pops up (with the little lightning) or it tries to turn on but fails to do so.

Solution: Since your phone got wet then the first thing that you should do is to make sure that the inside of the device is free from moisture or liquid. To do this you will need to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside your phone. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If the problem still persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord.
  • Try charging your phone using a different wall charger.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then your phone might be water damaged already. You can verify this further by checking the Liquid Damage Indicator sticker located inside the SIM slot of the phone. To view the sticker you will need to remove the SIM tray. If the sticker is red or pink in color then the phone has been water damaged. You will need to bring the phone to a service center if this is the case.

S6 Is Not Charging

Problem: My phone was working perfectly fine and then yesterday it wasn’t charging I turned the phone off and it started charging and then was working ok again but today it’s died and it connects the symbol comes up but it won’t actually charge and the green bar isn’t there to say it’s charging I’ve gone through your page and follow steps I reset it and it turned on but turned back off as it’s dead I tried to connect the charger whilst it quickly turned on and it wouldn’t connect at all then do you know anything I could do to fix this? Thank you

Related Problem: Hello, my Samsung s6 doesn’t fast charge anymore, and everytime I turn it off it comes up with the downloading screen, the errors have came out of the blue and my phone is only 4 months old

Related Problem: Last night i put my phone to charge and in the middle of the night i got up and the back of the phone was really hot and the phone refused to come on.

Solution: Make sure to perform the required troubleshooting steps for this particular issue which we have listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord.
  • Ty using a different wall charger.
  • Check if the phone charges when it is plugged to a computer USB port. If your phone charges this way then the problem might be caused by a faulty charging port. You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
  • Try starting your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s either the battery of the phone is defective or the power IC of the phone is not working properly. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Charging Very Slowly

Problem: Hi My samsung galaxy s6 has been charging slowly for a few days, when plugged in and using it the battery still goes down.  I left to charge overnight and when i woke up it has the red light on but no power, just a blank screen.  I have tried holding the volume up home screen and power buttons for a reset with no joy.

Solution: Are you still using the original charger that came with your phone? If you are using a third party replacement charger then this might not have the correct output power to correctly charge your phone. Try using the original charger of your phone or use a charger with a 2.0A output rating.

If the wall charger is not causing this problem then you should try using a different charging cord next. This cord gets easily broken and can cause this slow charging problem.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should check if a software glitch is causing this problem by performing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the issue persist then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this problem might be caused by a faulty battery or an internal component that is failing to work.

S6 Freezing On Software Update

Problem: My phone has been freezing up. I shut off recently with the power and volume down button, but this past time it got stuck several times and then showed it was installing a system update.  Now it keeps freezing on said update.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to start the phone in recovery mode again then perform a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.

S6 Not Starting After Drop

Problem: I accidentally dropped my phone on floor from a height of minimum of 5 ft. After that, i tried to turn on my phone but it didn’t get started. Soon after the incident, the phone started heat up. What should i do now?

Solution: If your phone heats up even if it is off then the battery might have been damaged by the drop. This is a potentially dangerous issue. You need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked immediately.

S6 Does Not Charge

Problem: My phone(Samsung galaxy s6) doesn’t want to charge. When I plug in the cable, the icon for battery shows, but it doesn’t start charging. If I turn on the phone while it’s connected to the cable, it normally turns on and then after 5-8 seconds turns off because there is no battery left. Do you know what the problem is? Thank you!

Solution: This particular issue can either be caused by the charger not supplying power to the battery or it could be caused by a faulty battery. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform to fix this problem.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord to charge your phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger to charge your phone.

If the issue still persists then have the battery of your phone checked at a service center. It’s possible that you will need to have this battery replaced.
