Problem: I have a samsung galaxy s6 and the new update won’t install it downloads then when it turns off to install it only installs to 27% then fails I’ve tried the factory reset still didn’t work Help!

Solution: What you should right now is to check if the phone can update using Smart Switch. This is a software which you can install in your computer and is used not only to update your phone but also to backup your phone data.

In case the issue still persists then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Not Charging Screen Turns Black

Problem: My phone used to charge normally then suddenly the screen turns black and makes a sound and goes back to normal after that the phone won’t charge it stayed that day for few days then it turned back normal it charges but not with the fast now months later it won’t charge again

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. To do this you need to clean the charging port using a can of compressed air. Once this is done perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case it doesn’t then you should charge it for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the cord and charger are tested to work on other devices. Turn on your phone after charging it.

In case the issue persists then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stuck In Download Mode

Problem: Hello, My Samsung Galaxy S6 updated this afternoon and the touch back button and options button stopped working. I then decided to perform a factory reset and now my phone is stuck in “download mode”. When I push the power, home, and volume down keys and hold it goes away. When I push the power, home, and volume up button nothing happens. When I push the power, home, and volume down button when the phone is shut off I come to a screen that warns against installing a custom OS. The options are continue, cancel, and view bar code. When I try to turn my phone on normally, it does not respond. I cannot access safe mode, nor can I access my boot options.

Solution: If your phone is stuck in download mode then what you need to do to get out of this mode is to first press and hold the volume down button. While still holding the volume down button press and hold the power button. Keep on pressing and holding both buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

Try to check if the back and recent capacitive buttons of your phone now work. If they still don’t work and the last factory reset that you performed was successful then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Freezes

Problem: Hi guys i have a problem my screen freezes but the touch still works and i have to lock and unlock the screen to unfreeze it then it works for a couple of seconds and freezes again i tried soft reset hard reset factory reset. Do you have an idea how to fix this. The device is a samsung s6

Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty digitizer. Since this digitizer is fused to the display then you might need to replace the whole display assembly. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center so that the exact cause of the problem can be pinpointed.

S6 Wi-Fi Turns Off When Phone Sleeps

Problem: Hi, i’m encountering wifi turns off when my samsung galaxy s6 went into sleep mode. I’d already check the advance setting-it was set to Always keep wifi on in sleep mode. But it doesn’t work. I had even uninstalled all battery saving app that i though will be the cause. The problem still there. Can anybody pls provide me some solution? Thank you very much

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to make sure that the WiFi sleep policy of the phone is properly set.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • Tap and hold on the Wi-Fi icon
  • Tap More
  • Tap Advanced
  • Tap Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep and make sure that it is set to always

If the above setting is already properly set then you need to perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Has Black Screen But Notifications Are Working

Problem: My phone has a black screen I can feel it vibrate when I turn it on and the green light shows that it’s charging also the 2 buttons at the bottom still light up. I have tried everything and the screen is still pitch black.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then check if the screen works in this mode. If it does then you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the screen still remains black even in recovery mode then this might already be caused by a faulty display. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Getting Software Update

Problem: Hello, I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and the new update was issued and it seems that it hasn’t upgraded yet like it should’ve, my friend who upgraded hers, had all the new updates on her phone and I was concerned as to why mine didn’t when I upgraded mine.

Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must first meet in order for it to get the official software updates.

  • Your phone must not be rooted
  • Your phone must not be running on a custom software
  • If you had your phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network in order for it to access the update servers.

In case your phone meets the conditions listed above and it is not getting any updates then try using Smart Switch to update your phone.

It’s also best to backup your phone data then do a factory reset before checking for a software update.

In case the above steps fails to update your phone then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. You can get the file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
