S6 Edge Wired Charging Not Working
Problem: Phone started not charging from Port yesterday. It underwent a software update on Wednesday and charged fine that night, however charging via usb port does not work. It will still charge using the wireless charging pad just fine. I’ve cleaned out the port, done a soft reset, and wiped the cache, all to no avail. I’ve tried multiple wall and car chargers and plugged directly into a cpu, none will charge. In my experience, usually a loose connection will charge at certain angle or by wiggling the cable, though that doesn’t seem to be the case this time. Any additional trouble shooting recommendations are helpful. Current software update… G925vvru4cpd2
Solution: It’s either the charging port of your phone is damaged or there might be something wrong with the charging circuit. In both cases you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hello, I was at work today and was using my phone as i use it a lot at work, i put it in my pocket (this is a loose pocket by my knees in work trousers) and went to visit a patient, when i looked at it a few hours later it was dead wouldn’t switch on. I assumed it had drained battery faster due to the heat we have just now but i have come home and it won’t charge either i get no repose from the phone. I am using the original charger and cable with the phone and have tried it in several plugs and plugged in my laptop but to no avail. I rely on my phone for work and also as we love in a rural village in the Scottish Highlands. Many thanks for your help.
Solution: It looks like the battery of your phone is acting up. Try doing a soft reset or battery pull. You can do this by pressing and holding down both the power and volume down key simultaneously for at least seven seconds. If all goes well your phone should restart. If the phone is still unresponsive then try doing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim here is to take out any dirt or debris that could be present in the port.
- Charge your phone using a different charging cord. Use a wall charger in charging for 20 minutes. If you still get no response then charge the phone for an additional 20 minutes using your computer’s USB port.
- Check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I recommend you do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On Not Charging
Problem: Hi there, my s6 edge won’t turn on, it’s not charging, I tried with more chargers and cables and nothing, the red led it’s off, won’t boot into recovery or safe mode, only in download mode, when the charger is connected the only thing it does its showing the charging icon for a few seconds and then disappears, this repeats over and over, do you guys have any ideas why is this happening and how to solve the problem
Solution: If your phone starts only in download mode then there’s a possibility that the phone software is corrupt. In phone’s where the battery can be removed the usual thing to do is simply to remove the battery then discharging the phone by pressing the power button for at least a minute. This however is not an option in this case since the battery of this device is non-removable.
The best option that you have right now is to try to flash the phone with its stock firmware. Take note that your data will be deleted in this process. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S6 Edge Shuts Off Does Not Turn On
Problem: I was using the phone to listen to music through an auxiliary cable connected to my car. I pulled the aux cord out and my phone froze and was stuck on the screen that says “samsung galaxy s6 edge” when you first power up. After reading through what it could be, I tried resetting it using the power and the volume key down. That didn’t work. At this time the phone was extremely hot to touch. I tried charging it and following all the steps to reboot it including the recovery mode which didn’t work. After I left my phone to charge for a while and retried the steps, the phone shut off completely and will not turn back on regardless of what buttons I’ve pressed.
Solution: I suspect that this issue might already be a hardware problem. The phone getting very hot could be caused by a short circuit inside the phone. To pinpoint the exact cause of this issue I suggest you bring it to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Gets Hot when Charging Does Not Start
Problem: I was charging in the night with my laptop and on getting up in the morning to get my phone I just noticed that it was getting extra hot in the whole body and until now it wont come up or even give a sign that it’s charging whenever I tried charging. The phone won’t just start up, it rather would be getting hot whenever am charging it. Please kindly help attend to this issue. Thanks
Solution: You should start the troubleshooting by cleaning the charging port of your phone. The presence of dust or debris in this port can cause charging problems. To clean the port use a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Next, try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the phone still gets hot when charging and does not turn on then you should have the device checked at a service center since this might already be a hardware problem. The possible causes of this varies from a faulty charging port to a defective charging circuit.
S6 Edge Not Charging
Problem: My phone won’t charge and it is dead. I connect the charger to the phone and it’s doesn’t charge my phone. The battery symbol pops up for a few seconds but it still doesn’t charge my phone, and I can turn it on if it’s connected to the charger but turns back off because it has no battery.
Related Problem: My charging port is not working it’s been on the fritz for a while one day it says the charging port works then the next day it just stops working all together. The wireless charging works but I want the charging port to work. What can I do to fix this problem its been going on for a while now.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to take out any dirt or debris that could be stuck in the port. When charging the phone try using a different charging cord as the one you are using might be defective. Try wiggling the cord from the charging port to check if the phone charges.
If the issue persists you should have the phone checked at a service center.
