S6 Edge Stuck In Boot Loop After Software Update
Problem: Hey guys, I updated to the new Android system on my Galaxy S6 edge and now it’s stuck in a boot loop. I’ve tried everything suggested, even reset to factory settings. It’s been doing this for about two hours now – it doesn’t seem to actually be doing anything. How long should a factory reset take? Thank You.
Solution: A factory reset should only take a couple of minutes to perform. If it’s still doing the reset after an hours then chances are something went wrong during the update process which could have corrupted the phone software. Your best option right now is to flash the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can download the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website where you can also find the instructions on how to flash your device.
S6 Edge Software Update Has Failed
Problem: My samsung s6 edge states that there is an update available but the phone starts to update then gets to a certain point and turns off then on then says update has failed.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if this is a connection related problem. Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then do the update. If the issue persists then you should try to use Smart Switch to update your phone software.
You should also consider doing a factory reset on your phone before checking for the software update.
S6 Edge Freezes After Booting
Problem: Hi all , my s6 edge froze after seconds from booting !! i doing some solutions like wipe data, flash the last stock rom in odin and after booting still the same problem or froze in through wipe , some time froze when enter the recovery mod !! only download mode working fine !
any help pls
Solution: Try to access the recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. If your phone still freezes after booting up then this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge IMEI Null After Software Update
Problem: I upgraded my phone to marshmallow 6.0.1, it was running perfectly then after 2-3 days it showed emergency calls only option. When I checked its IMEI it was null. Now it is not working properly.
Solution: This issue could be caused by a software glitch. Try turning off the phone and take out its SIM card. Reinsert the SIM card after a few minutes then turn on the phone. Does the issue still occur? If it does then I suggest that you try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Should the issue persist then the phone might have a corrupted IMEI folder. To fix this you will need to flash your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which also provides the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S6 Edge Has Factory Reset Protection
Problem: Hello I have Galaxy S6 Edge T-Mobile and I am trying to set up the phone but its has factory reset protection on it. Its asking me to enter previous owner gmail account to unlock factory reset protection. But it is my brother’s ID and he forget it and don’t remember it and can’t even reset the account. So, now I am trying to bypass the protection. I have OTG USB and put the apk but for some reason the file explorer is not poping up. The phone detect the USB but its not popping up. Can you help me what to do???
Solution: One way to workaround this FRP lock is to sideload an APK file to the phone from an OTG USB. The APK file can be sideloaded since the file manager app will automatically pop up. In this case though the file manager does not open. You should try to restart the phone then repeat the process to check if the file manager will activate.
If the issue persists then you should consider flashing the updated stock firmware file of your phone via Odin.
S6 Edge Bootloop After OTA Update
Problem: Hello I have a problem with my s6 edge i have make an update OTA but the phone is keeping bootloop with logo samsung and after into the recovery mode i have try wipe data and wipe cache but the result is the same the firmware is original samsung
Solution: For this issue I recommend that you do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
S6 Edge Random Ads Appearing After software Update
Problem: So my issue is that my phone updated to the latest software. Now all of a sudden my have random adverts playing and some of my apps such as Snapchat have started to glitch. I haven’t downloaded anything since before this update. So I don’t know what’s going on. Any help would be appreciated
Solution: The ads appearing in your device could be caused by a third party app you installed. To check if this is the case you have to start your phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Edge Not Getting Software Update
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, AT&T, is running on the original Lollipop 5.02 software. Each time I search for a software update it says the current software is update. I have called AT&T to push the software update our to phone, however they are unable to do so.
Solution: There are several reasons why a phone will not get a software update which we have listed below.
- The phone was unlocked and it is not running on its original network.
- The phone is rooted.
- The phone is running on a custom software.
If your phone does not have an issue with the above conditions then you should try to use Smart Switch to update your phone. If this still fails then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete you should check for the update again.
One last step that you should consider is to manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone. You can download your phone’s firmware file from the Sammobile website where you will also find instructions on how to flash your phone.
S6 Edge Automatically Turns Off After Software Update
Problem: My auntie in taiwan bought me a samsung s6 edge in their country and then brought here in Philippines. When I opened it and update the software it turned out to hang and automatically turning off. What should I do to fix my new phone. I haven’t yet use it. Thank you and hoping for your positive and fast response.
Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Once this is done start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. As soon as the reset is complete you should check for the update again.
