It’s internals are more or less the same as that of the regular #S6 phone. A lot of people who have been using this model as a daily driver are quite pleased with its performance. There are however instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge slow charging issue & other power related problems.

S6 Edge Slow Charging
Problem: My samsung galaxy s6 edge has had charging problems for a couple months now. Everytime i plug the samsung charger into my phone it either wont charge or it says its slow charging and will take over 5 hours to finish. Ive tried reseting it, I tried letting the battery die on its own and then charge it to 100% but it still doesn’t fix it.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in cases such as this is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free of any dirt or debris. Clean this port using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Try to check if the phone charges normally.
Sometimes a defective charging cord can also cause this issue. If this is the case then try replacing this cord with a new one. I also recommend that you try using a different wall charger.
There are also instances when a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem. To check if this is the cause you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s either your phone has a weak battery or defective charging port. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Charging Using Wall Charger
Problem: HI there. Please help. So I updated my phone and tried charging with my regular USB charger that I ve been charging it with for months and it says to use the usb cable the phone came with. Now at this point, It will still show the charging signs but does not charge. A couple hours later, it won’t even show that a charger cable is connected to the device. So I went and bought the Samsung charger, but still nothing. So I tried it on a wireless FAST charging charger at the store, it charges but slower than before when I used cable fast charging. Please help me out so I can charge my phone again. Thank you
Solution: The troubleshooting steps that you need to do for this issue are the same as the issue we have addressed above. First you need to make sure that the phone’s charging port is free from any dirt or debris as this may interfere with the charging process. Use a can of compressed air or blow into this port using a straw. Try checking if the issue is resolved.
A bad charging cable or wall charger can also cause this problem. If this is the case then try using a different cable and charger.
Since this issue occured right after a software update then there’s a possibility that some form of old software data that has not been removed from your phone is causing the problem. To check if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then your phone might have a faulty charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone in the water for 3 seconds. It’s in rice for almost 24 hours. I tried to turn it on once but nothing happend, then I put it back in rice. Is it dead? Or should I wait for couple more hours? Thank you!
Solution: If the phone does not turn on even if you have already placed it in a bag of rice then some internal component might have been water damaged. You can further check if the phone is water damaged by checking the liquid damage indicator sticker. Take out the SIM tray of your phone then look at the sticker inside the SIM slot. Normally this sticker should be white. If it turns red or pink then this mean that water had entered the device. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: Hi, suddenly all my apps started crashing down, something came up telling me that one of the apps was slowing down my phone so I uninstalled straight away, however nothing change it kept saying that Facebook stopped working, Gmail stopped working and ect. so I thought I will restart my phone, usually it take less than 30s to restart however this time my is just showing Samsung sign that gets lighter and darker every single time, like its restarting over and over it’s been like this for 1h now. any idea what can I do?
Related Problem: My dad’s phone (s6 edge) is stuck in a boot loop. I want to fix it for him as a pleasant surprise, and I have NO clue how or when it happened. When I get to the blue recovery screen, it goes away immediately. Plz help!
Solution: Try following the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this type of problem. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.
- Connect your phone to its wall charger then try to turn it on. If it turns on then the issue might be power related. You should have the battery checked at a service center.
- Try restarting your phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then the problem could be caused by a third party app. Try unisntalling some of the latest apps you downloaded into your device.
- Start your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset here. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this step.
S6 Edge Heating Up While Charging
Problem: I have the issue regarding heating problem while charging, screen mirroring, using the data also. I have visited Samsung customer service they had did a software update regarding the problem, but also facing the issue after.
Solution: If your phone heats up abnormally while charging then this might be caused by a short circuit. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first by using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. This takes out any dirt or debris that could cause the problem. If the issue still occurs then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the above steps fail to work then bring your phone to a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.
S6 Edge Charging Paused Battery Temperature Too Cold Error
Problem: I am having a bunch of issues. 1) It is not always charging, It tells me that “Charging Paused, Battery Temperature Too Cold” Not sure what that is. 2) My Back Key and my Recent Key are not working at all. 3) my wifi is not connecting at all, it doesn’t even give me any wifi options, even though we have a wifi router in the house and at camp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: The charging issue that you are experiencing is caused by the sensor detecting that the temperature is below 4 degrees Celsius. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first as sometimes dirt stuck in the port can cause this problem. Use a can of compressed air to clean this port.
If the issue still persists then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset to check if this is caused by a glitch in the phone software. If the reset fails then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by any of the following listed below.
- Faulty sensor
- Faulty battery
- Water damaged internal circuit
Regarding the second and third issue that you are experiencing with your device try to check if they still occur after the factory reset.
