S6 Edge Randomly Reboots
Problem: Hello, I’m having problems with my Galaxy S6 Edge. I have read through your site and have made some progress. It started with quick reboots right after the “Galaxy S6 Edge” Splash page. I was able to do a data wipe and reset. Now if the phone is connected to a pc by USB it will fully boot but It still randomly reboots after a short time. I can’t find any info about this problem. Any ideas?
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I dropped my samsung galaxy s6 edge in the bath and the battery was on 1% when i picked it up it didn’t turn on. I assumed the battery was dead. After an hour i put it on charge and it wouldn’t charge so i put it in a bowl off rice and removed the sim tray. Now whenever i put it on charge the screen shows the charging symbol then just turns off again
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture present inside the phone. In case the issue still persists after this then a component inside the phone is most likely water damaged. The best thing to do in this scenario is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Keeps Restarting And Freezing
Problem: good day, I have a samsung s6 edge 64gb. Every now and then, it will keep restarting and freezing, that will go on for a day or so and then it works perfectly fine for like 2 weeks. I have taken it to the samsung repair shop and they reinstalled the software but it has not fixed the problem. could you please advise what could be wrong with it. When the restarting happens, the phone gets really hot. I have tried leaving it in safe mode but still freezes. please help!!
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.
S6 Edge Will Not Turn On
Problem: Hi, i have a problem that my samsung galaxy s6 edge won’t turn on, when i put it to charge it blinks the charging icon for like 2 seconds then turns off again, when i try to hold down the power button it will blink the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge powered by android screen for 2 seconds and then turns off again,i could use any help and ive tried holding down power and volume down button.
Solution: What you should do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Next, charge the phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord or wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
Once the phone has charged try turning it on. If it still does not turn on then try starting the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.
S6 Edge Switches On And Off
Problem: Hi, so a few months back my cell had this issue, it would switch on and off constantly on its own, that’d happen like 7-8 times then it’d either work just fine or completely stop working. Right now the problem has taken a leap because my camera won’t work either, every time I turn it on, the screen breaks into pink, blue and green fragments and it freezes, a few seconds later, the mobile switches off. If I download a new app, the same process of switching off and on repeats, it heats up during this process, the service center guys couldn’t find a solution to it. Your response will be very helpful, thank you.
Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any updates yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is already caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Battery Draining Very Fast
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy s6 Edge for a little while now. My battery is draining very fast. It says it pretty low buy when I plug it in, the percent is higher. For instance today, my phone died at 1% buy when I plugged it in, it said it was on 20%. Another time is when the battery was on 3% or so and I plugged it in and it was on 15%.
Solution: What you will want to do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a third party app by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any app yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty battery. You should have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Will Not Charge Past 45%
Problem: My phone won’t charge past 45% for the last two days. Even plugged into a charger it will only charge if the phone is not touched. If I try to use it while charging it quickly loses battery. I have left it for about 12 hours to charge and it only goes up to 45, it’s a ridiculously slow charge. I never had this issue before the software update. I’ve tried different chargers and power points. I haven’t installed any new apps either. This seems like it’s programmed to die. Is that a thing?
Solution: You should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try charging the phone. If the issue persists then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
