S6 Edge+ Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: i went to the beach today, and my bag fell into the water with my phone inside, unfortunately for me it went off and i try to turn it on, but there is only a blue light that shows off on the charging site. i even try to see if the battery was affected by taking my sim card off the phone; but nothing . the blue light is still there but the phone won’t turn on. help please.
Solution: Since this model does not have any water resistance feature then it is very likely that the problem is caused by liquid entering the device. What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the phone is dry. Wipe the external part with a dry cloth. Once the external part is dry place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the device. After 48 hours have passed try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the issue still persists then clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes. Check if the phone turns on after this.
If the phone does not turn on then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge+ Screen Not Working After Getting Wet
Problem: My little sister had my phone under water and I dried it off and put it in dried rice. The buttons were working fine but not the screen. I couldn’t open any app. It’s still in rice for at least 30 minutes now.
Related Problem: Hi there! Accidently my car cologne dripped on my phone and later fell from my lap. Now it starts with the welcome words but with two green coloured horizontal lines on the top and bottom and then becomes unresponsive.
Solution: You will need to leave the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. If the screen still doesn’t work after this then it could be damaged by the water. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge+ Apps Not Opening After Software Update
Problem: Since updated the software last week, some apps are not able to open eg etsy; pinterest ; and facebook. When i click to that specific apps to open, the screen is on for 1 sec and then close it automatically same problem to etsy pinterest and facebook. I have never had this problem b4 updating the software.
Solution: Try checking if any of your apps have any updates then update them accordingly. You can do this by opening the Google Play Store then go to the My Apps section.
In case all your apps are already updated but the issue still occurs then it’s possible that this is already caused by some old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data is now causing a conflict with the new software version.
What you need to do to fix the problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Edge+ Only Charges To 50%
Problem: I have an s6 edge plus it suddenly started charging up to 50% but the charge only lasted 5 mins so the phone has to stay plugged on. I carried it to fix they said was the battery we changed the battery but i still have the same problem.. The phone has to stay on the charger and it only charges up to 50%
Solution: If the battery has already been replaced and the issue still occurs then this might already be caused by a faulty power IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have this checked.
S6 Edge+ Can’t Update Software
Problem: I bought this phone at AT&T and I switched to T-Mobile. Now, I can not update the software because it says that it has the latest software up to date. I was looking to flash the phone but i am afraid of doing that. your help will be appreciated.
Solution: If you can get hold of an AT&T SIM card and insert it in your phone then you will be able to get the software update. Just make sure that your phone is not rooted or running on a custom software.
In case you don’t have an AT&T SIM card then try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then let the software update your phone.
If the above steps fail to work then you should consider flashing the phone using Odin with its updated firmware file. You can get the instructions on how to flash your phone as well as the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website.
S6 Edge+ Not Getting Software Update
Problem: I haven’t still not got the Nougat update in my S6 edge plus. The device is updated to Marshmallow. How can i get it updated to Nougat?
Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must meet in order for it to get the software update.
- Your phone must not be rooted
- Your phone must not be running on a custom software
- If you had this phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network.
If your phone meets the conditions listed above and it is not getting updates then try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete use Smart Switch to update your phone.
If the above steps don’t work then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file.
