S6 Edge Not Turning On After Charging
Problem: Hello, Thank you for your blog and advice it was easy to find and very useful. In my situation I was not able to use it. I woke up noticed my phone was dead and on the charger. I am using an original Samsung charger, and USB. I turned it on a couple of times and the charge showed at zero percent battery life. I checked the charger and it worked fine. The last time I tried to attempt to do soft reset, and I reading it over after I am sure I did it wrong. I held down the power button the at the same time as both up and down volume controls. The Samsung turned off and showed a blue LED light for about ten minutes while it was connected to the charger, however it still did not show the green charging bar on the LED. After ten minutes I did remove the phone from charging, and tried to charge it on a battery pack. Within a few minutes the blue LED light disappeared, and the phone is completely dead and am not able to do anything. On your website you suggested if this happens to contact a tech? I am used to in the past to open the back of my Samsung’s and move battery packs or swap parts and I am assuming that somehow the tech would have to substitute the battery pack in the phone in order to fix the software? Please let me know your thoughts.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port as this could cause charging issues. Once this is done try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If after 20 minutes the phone doesn’t turn on then charge it again for an additional 20 minutes but this time around do it via the USB port of your computer. When turning on the phone try pressing the power button and the volume down button simultaneously for at least 12 seconds. This simulates a battery pull and should turn on the device.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center. The first thing that will probably be checked is the battery by replacing it with a new one. The power and charging IC as well as the charging port of your phone will also have to be checked.
S6 Edge Not Charging After Battery Died
Problem: I was on Snapchat and then my phone battery died. I put my phone on the charger and no LED light appeared and it hasn’t charged ever since. I tried to reset my samsung s6 edge by holding the volume up key the home key and the power key together. And still nothing happened. Please help me with suggestions.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or dust stuck in the port as this may be preventing your device from charging. Next, simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding the power button and volume down button simultaneously for at least 20 minutes. Normally your phone will restart after this procedure. If the phone is unresponsive you should charge it for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the problem still persists then charge it for an additional 20 minutes via the USB port of your computer.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the device starts in this mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software.
If the steps listed above fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Will Only Charge On Computer
Problem: my son’s galaxy s6 edge will only charge on the computer. I tried several different charging adapters and they worked with my galaxy s6 edge but the only way to charge the phone is when connected to a computer. It doesn’t fast charge either it is slow charging it took at least an hour to get from 0 to 17%. thanks in advance for your help
Solution: Most of the time this problem is usually caused by an issue with the charging port. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once the port is clean try charging your phone again but this time use a different charging cord. If the issue persists then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not turning On After Overnight Charging
Problem: Hi, I charged my phone up last night and it was fine, I used it for a little while before I went to sleep and it had 95% battery. when I woke up during the night tried to check my phone and it was just dead I thought it had ran out of battery but when i plug it into various charges and plugs nothing happens no light nothing. I’ve attempted to hard reset it and everything but its literally like the phone has had its battery removed. I have no idea if you can help me but thought it was worth a shot. thanks in advance
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air then charge it using a different charging cord. You should also check if your phone charger through the USB port of your computer. If your phone doesn’t turn on then do a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power button and volume down button simultaneously for around 12 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
If the issue still persist then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hey, I dropped my samsung galaxy s6 edge in the toilet for less than 5 seconds and when i got it back out and quickly wiped it, it’s completely unresponsive. It won’t charge, turn on or soft reset. Nothing is working. I had no problems with it prior to this particular one. Please help.
Solution: Since this phone does not have any protection against water then it’s very likely that some component inside the phone has been water damaged. You can check the liquid damage indicator sticker located inside the SIM slot ( remove the SIM tray holder) for any signs of change in color. If it turns pink or red ( normally it is white) then your phone has been water damaged.
You will need to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours so that moisture inside the phone will be removed. Try to turn on your phone after performing this step.
If your phone still does not turn on then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
