S5 Incompatible Charger
Problem: My Galaxy S5 displayed a message several times saying I was using an incompatible charger and now refuses to charge at all, regardless of charger. I tried 110v, 12v, and my computer cable. The charging port is tight. This has just happened since a major update several days ago. As this can be directly traced to the update event, is Samsung doing anything to correct this?
Related Problem: My samsung has given me issues recently when charging it takes to long to charge and it states to use the original charger however I’ve been using this charger for a few months and it never gave me this issue before i did a soft and hard reset on the phone hoping to fix the issue but the problem still persists
Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular issue is to clean the charging port of your phone since dust or debris that’s stuck in this port can cause charging problems such as this. Use a can of compressed air when cleaning the port. Once this port is clean and the issue still remains try using a different charging cord. There are instances when the cord is the culprit since it easily gets damaged. You should also try using a different wall charger.
If the problem persists then I suggest that you do a factory reset. This reset will delete any old software data that might still be in your phone and is causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Restarts Without Warning
Problem: My issue as I found is a very common but annoying issue. My device restarts without warning. It restarts sometimes in the middle of a call or while I am using facebook etc. Even when it is not in use it restarts on its own. I have tried many things to result the issue but to no avail. I would really like if you would furnish me with some helpful tips. I have performed factory reset on it a couple times but the issue was not solved. Thanks for your help
Solution: Since you have already performed several factory reset on this phone then it’s time to look at other factors that might be causing the problem. Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. Another possible suspect in this case is the phone battery. Try getting a new battery then see if the issue gets resolved.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Yellow Triangle With Exclamation Mark When Charging
Problem: Hi, I have Samsung S5, recently my phone is not in the correct condition as it should be. I went out to play football and my phone battery percentage was on 5%. After playing football my phone battery was completely drained as it didn’t turn on as i tried to, so i charged the phone and on the screen it showed a yellow triangle sign with a exclamation mark. I was really worried, so i tried my dad samsung s6 charger and still showed yellow triangle with exclamation mark. Can you please help me with this situation. Thank you.
Solution: There are several factors that needs to be checked for this particular issue which we will go into detail below. Basically, the problem could either be caused by any of the following listed below.
- Charging port
- Charging cord
- Wall charger
- Phone software
- Charger port daughterboard
Start the troubleshooting by cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port as this could cause charging problems. Once this is done try charging your phone.
If the issue still occurs then try the following steps listed below.
- Try using a different charging cord.
- Try using a different wall charger
- Get a new battery and see if the issue still occurs.
Should the problem remain then one last troubleshooting step that you can do is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s possible that this could be caused by a defective charging port assembly. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Won’t Turn On
Problem: my samsung galaxy S5 is always black. I have tried to reset it when the screen partially worked but it only worked for a week after. Now it won’t turn on at all I have taken the battery out and put it back in and pushed the power, home, and the volume up button simultaneously. But the screen still won’t turn on so I have no idea what to do, do I just need to to get it checked out?
Solution: Have you tried charging the phone first or at least 20 minutes before turning it on? If you don’t see the charging indicator then try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure any dirt or debris trapped in the port gets removed. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone. If you still get no response from your device then try replacing the battery of your phone.
If the above steps fail to work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Stuck On T-Mobile Screen
Problem: Stuck on T-mobile screen with occasional flash (brighter light) with haptic feedback. Won’t move past this screen. I tried removing and replacing battery and then the power button won’t turn the phone on. then I tried to plug into the pc & holding volume down switch. It showed the battery getting power screen, but didn’t go to “download mode” from there like the website said it should. I was working on my backing up my phone to Samsung account prior to this happening. It froze when downloading the updated to google and the journey above commenced. Is my device memory gone forever? I hadn’t yet backed up my photos
Solution: There’s still a chance that you can save the photos in you phone by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Remove the battery and microSD card of your phone(if you have one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone turns on.
- Try to turn on your phone with the charger connected. If it turns on then it’s possible that the battery is causing the problem. Try getting a new battery.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe the cache partition of your phone then do a restart.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then an app could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. You should also backup your phone data while the phone is in this mode.
If the above steps fail to work then you will need to do a factory reset from recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
S5 Stuck In Galaxy Logo
Problem: I am having problem with my samsung galaxy s5( GT900T).I am using it in Bangladesh. phone came from USA. I am using this phone for last one year. Few days ago suddenly my phone restarted and it stucked on galaxy s5 logo powered by android.I removed battery and powered it on,but not solved. Then I flashed it on safe mood. Nothing solved. Then I went to technician. He flashed it again and installed the firmware apps. But it’s still same as before. Funny thing is technician himself isn’t sure what the problem is. He is offering me that he will open my device but on my risk. after opening it may b solved, may not be or may be dead (as per technician). Now what should I do??
Solution: If flashing the phone software fails to work then this issue is most likely caused by a component inside the phone that’s failing to work. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center capable of doing board level repairs.
S5 Charges Very Slow
Problem: My phone has been giving me issues when charging it displays that charge is slow when using a usb that I’ve been using for a few months I’ve tried it out with different USB’s as well but nothing seems to work and just getting it to charge up to 50% takes more than half a day
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. You should make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try charging your phone using different charging cords and wall chargers. If the issue persists then you should try getting a new battery as the problem could already be battery related.
