S4 Does Not Turn On After Startup
Problem: I’m actually unsure of the software version- The phone turns off automatically after 3 seconds of startup. The phone does not turn back on after this. Removing the battery and placing it back it automatically turns the phone on without touching the power button, turns off after 3 seconds. The phone does not turn on at all when removing the battery with the charger is plugged in. Placing the charger in quickly after placing in the battery displays a battery icon for 3 seconds before turning off.
Solution: Let’s first check if the phone software has anything to do with this issue. Take out the phone battery and the microSD card if one is installed. Press and hold the power button for about a minute. This discharges the phone circuit of any charge and clears out the RAM of any temporary data. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone.
If the problem persists check if you can enter the phone’s recovery mode. If you are able to access the recovery mode then you should try wiping the cache partition of your phone then restart your phone normally.
If wiping the cache partition does not solve the problem then you have to consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. This is to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue. Take note that all of your phone data will be deleted in the process so make sure to do this if you have recently made a backup copy of your data.
If you can’t enter the recovery mode of your phone or if the troubleshooting on the recovery mode fails to resolve the issue then you should try to get a new battery and check if the old one is causing the problem.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem.
S4 Does Not Turn On
Problem: ive taken it to the tech guys but nobody has given me a straight answer all i’ve got is “it could be the motherboard” all I know is it charged to 76% one day then 56% the next day and the day after it would not turn on, replaced the charge port and the battery, and it still wont turn on, what other problems could there be and how could I repair it, I have a new phone now however a lot of important information is still on this phone, can you help?
Solution: If you already replaced the battery and the phone’s charging port but yet your phone still does not turn on then the problem may be with the power IC of your device. This is a component in your phone motherboard that regulates the power of your phone. If this part is damaged then your phone will not charge or turn on.
If you know of any good service center in your area then have them check if this component in your device is functioning properly. If it isn’t then this is the part that needs to be replaced and not the whole motherboard. If the whole motherboard is to be replaced then you will not be able to access your phone data anymore.
S4 Does Not Charge Or Turn On
Problem: My Samsung S4 – the screen had gone all white and bright and then the phone died forever….it doesn’t charge, i’ve tried changing batteries, i tried draining the battery method and then putting it back also but it didn’t work, no lights or anything on the phone…it’s just dead, simply dead. What can the problem be??
Solution: It looks like this may already be a hardware related problem. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have them check the charging port of your phone. If the port is good then the next component in the list that needs to be checked is your phone’s power ic. There’s also the possibility that the phone display is causing this issue so this needs to be checked as well.
S4 Does Not Turn On After Charging
Problem: Hey guys i plugged in the phone 2 hours later checked to see if it charged but the phone was super hot and now it doesn’t want to turn on something to mention last night when i pluged it in to charge a screen appeared “downloading do not turn off target” i did a soft reset and it was fine till this morning that i tried charging and nothing.
Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem may be software related. Try taking out the phone battery and microSD card (if one is installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery the see if you can turn on your phone.
If the problem persists then try charging your phone using a different charger and USB cord for at least 20 minutes then attempt to turn on your phone.
If you still can’t turn on your phone then check if you can enter your phone’s recovery mode. If you can then attempt to wipe the cache partition of your phone.
You should also try connecting your phone to a computer running on Samsung’s Smart Switch software. Press the power button of your phone once it is connected to your computer and the software is running. If your phone can be detected the I suggest you backup your phone data.
After backing up your data you can do a software recovery or you can proceed with doing a factory reset through the recovery mode.
If the problem still persists then try using a different phone battery. You should also consider bringing your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked for any hardware related issues.
S4 Mini Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hi. Well I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and it won’t turn on. What happened was it started to become very difficult to charge. I had to put the charger a certain way to charge, then it just stopped charging. So I took it into an experienced tech in my area and he said he changed the power port but it still won’t turn on. When I first got it back it would vibrate when I would plug it in but now it doesn’t do nothing. He said it was just really dead. Nothing works to get a response, no holding the buttons. Nothing
Solution: Have you tried using a different USB cable when charging your phone? This cord usually gets damaged easily especially if it is constantly coiled or bent. You should also try using a different wall charger.
If your phone still does not charge or turn on then the problem may be caused by some component inside your device. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Does Not Turn On Unless Connected To Charger
Problem: Battery dies very fast. New battery, formatted device, and put on safety mode which did not help. I am wondering what to do….also when I remove the battery the phone will not turn on unless I plug it into a charger. Than an empty battery appears but once I boot it the regular battery power is accurate. IDK…..maybe its kitkat version. The phone lasts with power for 4 hours with no use on it. Thanks.
Solution: I suggest you get a new phone battery first since this issue is commonly caused by a battery that has gone bad.
