Samsung is rumoured to be announcing the next gen of its smart phone, the Samsung Galaxy S IV, on the 14th of this month. The South Korean smart phone giant has been quite successful in keeping almost all of the details of the details of the smart phone a secret. But we still know that the smart phone will come with a 4.99 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and that the next gen flagship device will feature the Exynos 5 octa which is an eight core processor.

But apart from these hardware specs, we know that the company is very good with software features that you usually do not find on any other Android smart phones. We have seen so many such features on the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II already. And now, we have a rumor that says the Galaxy S IV will be bringing more of that. Today, we know about the “Eye Scrolling” feature of the Galaxy S IV.

Samsung has been already able to detect the eyes of the user and see if they are on the screen. If they are, the display would as it is, or else it would dim a bit to save battery. Similar technology is used for maintaining the orientation of the display when rotation is enabled but the user is reading some text, so it is maintained. In this new Eye Scrolling technology, the smart phone will track the eye of the user and when the eyes reach the end of the page, the software will be able to automatically scroll to display the next few lines or paragraphs. This was reported by the New York Times.

[W]hen users read articles and their eyes reach the bottom of the page, the software will automatically scroll down to reveal the next paragraphs of text.

The Samsung employee said that over all, the software features of the new phone outweighed the importance of the hardware.
