Note 8 Is Lagging
Problem: My note 8 has been lagging I’ve restarted it more then once, but it keeps doing it and it’s my videos my text my internet my apps, it’s everything… would really appreciate a suggestion or something, I have no sound anymore either my text don’t ever ring anymore they might once or twice outta like ten text
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you do have one then I suggest that you remove this first then check if the phone still lags. If it doesn’t lag anymore then the problem is most likely caused by a corrupt card which you should replace.
In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Mobile Data Can’t Connect after Wi-Fi Is Off
Problem: I bought this note 8 3 weeks ago. Past 1 week I notice that whenever I connect to wifi (home Wi-Fi, outside Wi-Fi or hotspot) for 5-6 mins, the mobile data dropped and can’t be connect after I switch off Wi-Fi. I tried few steps that I can like turn on and off mobile data, delete network caches, uninstalled recent apps and start with safe mode. The only 2 ways I can get back my mobile data is to restart the phone or turn on and off plane mode. This should not be happening because it is not happened to my note 3. I’m using local carrier (Digi), and is working fine with my note 3. I did went to Samsung service center but since my phone is a US version, my country (Malaysia) samsung service center can’t help me with software reset. As advised by them, it will void my warranty since the software they use is not same with US. I have not perform the factory reset yet, this will be my last option. Really hope u can help me on this.
Solution: If your mobile data works after you restart your phone or toggle airplane mode then there’s a possibility that this is a software related problem. You should consider doing a factory reset to fix this issue. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 8 Bypass FRP
Problem: bought my Galaxy note 8 offline from a guy, he didn’t reset it so I did a factory reset on it, now it says I have to be on Wi-Fi and to plug in previous owner info I can’t get ahold of him nor do I know that info so I am stuck. Need to know how to get it to where I can put my Google account in and activate the phone.
Solution: The best way to tackle this issue is to contact the person who sold you the phone then get the Google account details so that you can use the phone. In case this is not possible then you can try to search online for the various methods to bypass the factory reset protection of the phone. Take note that most of the methods will not work if the phone is running on an updated software version. One other way to resolve this issue is to contact Samsung regarding this matter. Just make sure to provide proof of ownership of the device.
Note 8 Website Displays Chinese Characters
Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and I use the Google Chrome browser to surf the web. Whenever I access this page, https://outlook.live.com/owa , instead of the normal icons I get Chinese characters. Apparently I did some kind of finger gesture that replaced the icons with the Chinese characters. I’ve tried pressing everything, to no avail. Can you suggest something to fix this?
Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the Chrome app from the application manager. Once this is done check if there are any updates for the Chrome browser then update it accordingly.
Note 8 Streaming Music Randomly Stops Playing
Problem: Morning! If I play music resident on my phone from Google play, I have no issues. If I stream music using my radio station’s app, it works fine for a time, but then stops. I have the display “always on” and have to double tap my home button to turn it back on, but it only stays on for a few minutes. very annoying.
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the phone is not operating in power saving mode. If it isn’t and the issue occurs then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi is not set to turn off when the phone sleeps. To do this swipe down from the top of the screen then tap and hold the Wi-Fi icon. Go to Advanced then tap on Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 8 Not Receiving Text Messages
Problem: Just got a new galaxy note, 8, and I’m having issues receiving text messages. For the past several days some people on my contacts list have been receiving my text messages but I have not been receiving their replies. I am sending to phone numbers, not email addresses.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to try to send yourself a regular text message. If you are able to receive your own message then proceed with sending yourself a picture message. You might not be able to send or receive the picture message which might be the root cause of the problem. Your friends might be sending you a text message through MMS. To fix this make sure that the phone is using the correct APN settings that matches the settings of your carrier.
In case your phone can receive regular SMS and picture messages then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that no contact or number is placed in the spam list of the phone. You can check if this is the case by opening the Messages app, tap on the three dots then tap on Settings. From here tap on Block Messages then tap on Block Numbers. Tap on the minus sign on the number you want to remove.
- Check if the same issue occurs when the phone is startec in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is adn uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
