Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, Verizon's Galaxy Note 3 receiving KitKat update

It’s a good day for owners of Samsung Galaxy Note lineup of tablets and phablets, as the Android 4.4 KitKat update is rolling out to two of the Korean manufacturer’s Galaxy Note devices. First up is Verizon’s variant of the Galaxy Note 3, and the other is going out to the international (and Korean) variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0, the 8-inch tablet that started its software life on Android 4.1.2.

Verizon is a little late to the party, as other carriers have pushed out the update way back in March, and isn’t making things easier as the update is currently only available over Samsung’s PC suite software Kies and Verizon’s Upgrade Assistant tool. It shouldn’t be long before it arrives over the air, but for now you’ll have to connect your phone to a PC to get things done. Meanwhile in Europe, KitKat has begun rolling out to the Galaxy Note 8.0, thankfully in the form of an over-the-air update that should bring all the Android 4.4 goodies to Samsung’s first 8-inch Galaxy Note.

As usual, the update will take its time to reach every device in the case of the Galaxy Note 8.0, though it should be available for everyone rocking the Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon right away.
