This design change has made the phone more solid and premium looking although there are some tradeoffs such as the battery now not accessible by the phone owner. Although this is a reliable phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 5 wireless charging paused issue & other related problems.

Note 5 Wireless Charging Paused
Problem: My samsung note 5 stopped fast charging and even when it’s not being charged i get message saying wireless charging paused. I’ve never used a wireless charger
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by some software glitch. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps first in the phone. Try checking if the problem still occurs.
If the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger ( must have an output of 2.0A) to charge your phone.
In case the issue still persists then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 With Black Screen Not Detected By Computer
Problem: Hi,I have Samsung Galaxy Note 5 which unfortunately was dropped by my child on floor. After that my screen become unresponsive and later screen was black. At that time my phone was in power saving mode. Now I am connecting it to my PC to recover my data but as phone is in power saving mode it is not connecting via USB cable to PC and smart switch. Can you please guide me in this condition how can I disable the power saving mode while screen is black. P.S I have also tried to boot the device in safe mode but it didn’t work as well.
Solution: The most likely reason why the phone is not detected by the computer is because the USB mode has not been set properly. Normally you will just have to pull down the notification bar then under the USB options icon you will need to tap on Media device (MTP). Since this is not possible right now due to the screen being unresponsive and black then the best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have the display assembly of the phone replaced. You will not lose your phone data in this process.
Note 5 S Health Not working After Software Update
Problem: I have a tmobile note 5 in the UK on ee and as far as I know the phone is not rooted as it got 7.0 update a week or so ago but my problem Is s health not working says because of a new security policy s health won’t work on a rooted phone so I downloaded a root checker and it says my phone is not rooted
Solution: This issue could be caused by a tripped Knox counter. To check if this is the case follow the steps listed below.
- Power off your device
- Hold Power Button + Home Button + Volume Down Button
- You should see Warning!! Text on your screen.
- On the top right hand side corner find the Knox counter text. A Knox Warranty Void: 0x0 means that your warranty is not void and 0x1 means that the warranty is void.
If the Knox setting is 0x1 then this is the reason why the S Health is not working.
The only way to get S Health working again is to change the Knox counter to 0x0. There are several tutorials on how to do this which you can search online. Try checking the XDA forums for the best way to do this.
Note 5 Speech To Text Setting Missing In Keyboard After Software Update
Problem: After the most recent update, my keyboard settings were all screwy. I saw your fix for getting autocorrect, auto capitalization, etc back, and I’ve done those, but now I can’t get my speech- to- text button to show up, and my numbers no longer show above my keyboard. My fiance and I have the same phone, same build level, same update, bought at the same time, and his is all still there. In settings on his phone, we found the option to toggle the number row, but that option is just not there in my settings. I can send screenshots via email if needed. Any ideas?
Solution: Try restarting the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try to check if the microphone is hidden by pressing and holding on the gear icon which is located to the left of the space bar. You should find the microphone there.
In case it isn’t then go to Settings > General management > Language and input. Make sure that Google Voice typing in enabled and set to automatic.
In case the issue still persists then it is possible that this is caused by a software glitch. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Unfortunately Music Has Stopped Error
Problem: My music button is not working on Note 5. It says ” Unfortunately, music has stopped” all the time. It has been over 2 weeks. Any tips for that?
Solution: To fix this problem you will need to clear the cache and data of the music app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the problem still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then this could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue persists proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Screen Has Gap
Problem: On the tip left side of my screen the overlay and the digitizer are separating. They want me to turn it into insurance. However to me this seems like a manufacture issue. What do you think?
Solution: If your phone is still within the warranty period then this can be considered as a manufacturing issue. It will then be up to the authorized service center to decide to fix the screen or replace the device.
Note 5 Randomly Not Ringing During Calls
Problem: Hello, My Samsung Note 5 keeps losing it’s ringer. I miss phone calls. I end up resetting my phone so that everything can come back to being “normal”. I am at a loss as to what to do. Can you please provide some assistance with this issue? Thank you for your help.
Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs when your phone isstarted in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to observe first if the issue still occurs.
