Note 5 Network Not Working After Marshmallow Update

Problem: My device is automatically updated after the updated the sim network is not working ,signal are not show on it while the sim is accepted but they notified please wait for network preparing..

Solution: Issues such as this can happen after the update. What you need to do first before troubleshooting the issue is to verify that the problem isn’t network related. If you have another mobile device that’s on the same network as your Note 5 then check if it is getting a signal. Another thing that you should do is to verify if your SIM is working. To do this you need to insert it in another device. This way if it is getting a signal while installed in another device then the problem is with the phone.

If you have determined that the phone is causing the issue then follow the troubleshooting steps I have listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Turn off the phone then take out the battery and SIM card. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the SIM and battery. Turn on your phone.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Problem: Before the Marshmallow update I had great 4g service almost all the time. Ever since the update I have no 4g service. I have done the soft reset on my phone but that didn’t help. Please help me fix my favorite phone!!

Solution: Before doing any troubleshooting make sure you are in an area that has a good 4G LTE signal. You should also verify with your carrier if you have an active 4G LTE subscription. Once you have taken care of this proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the phone’s 4G setting is activated. To do this just go to Settings – From the Connections field tap on More networks. Tap on mobile networks. Tap network mode. Tap LTE/CDMA to enable 4G LTE when available. Tap ok.
  • Turn off your phone. Take out the SIM card then place it back in. Turn on your phone.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 TouchWiz Home Launcher Selection Not Saved After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Ever since the marshmallow update whenever i hit the home button (no matter if I’m in a browser, an app, the camera, etc.) it opens a box that says select launcher. There are two options: Touch Wiz Home & Touch Wiz Easy Home.  I always choose the first then a dialogue box appears that tells where to go in settings to disable default settings.  Usually when this happens with other things you hit ok and is now set as a default and you no longer have to go through this process. Not so with the launcher. Every time i hit home button i have to repeat the same process. I have gone to settings: applications: default applications: home screen: Touch Wiz Home. After you select it tells you to hit home button to save as default.  Have done this.  Does not correct problem.

Solution: Do you have a third party launcher installed in your phone? If you have then try to uninstall this then check if the issue still occurs. Another factor that can cause this problem is a corrupt data in the TouchWiz launcher app. If this is the case you need to clear the cache and data of this app from the application manager.

If the problem still occurs then try to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

In case the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 No Notification After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Hi, it appears that after upgrading the OS I have lost all messaging notifications (voicemail, text, facebook, email). All notifications are turned on in every location I can find. Is there something else that I can try. Thanks

Solution: If you already have turned on the notification settings and the sound level is set to maximum then this issue could be caused by a problem during the update process. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

If this doesn’t work then I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is usually the recommended thing to do once issues occur right after an update. What this does is it deletes all of the data in your device including the old software data that could still be present and is causing this type of issue.

Note 5 Touchscreen Not Working After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Since upgrade to 6.0.1 when phone opens from awake touch screen works for two activities then becomes dead to touch. Works fine after the pen is removed and activated. Screen is then dead to any touch without the pen. I will anything that I can do to fix this.

Solution: It appears that the digitizer of your phone could be faulty. You should however check if it is the software update that is causing this problem. To verify if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset immediately check if the touchscreen works. If it doesn’t then you have to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will need to have the digitizer replaced.

Note 5 Multiple Random Contacts After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Following Marshmallow update via Verizon, in my contacts, I have now multiple random contacts as only email addresses, 50 in a’s alone. Other contacts have also been affected. Even though I have deleted them, they come back. All are @hotmail. Found in contacts list was customized, I didn’t do this, very frustrating. Help, please.

Solution: For this issue you need to check your contacts display settings. The phone could be displaying your contacts from different accounts.

  • From a Home screen tap Contacts
  • Tap MORE which is located in the upper-right
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Contacts
  • Tap Contacts to display then tap a contact option (All contacts, Phone, SIM card).

  1. A couple of days ago, I thought, “gee I haven’t backed my phone up for a while” It was working fine, but I thought it was about time I did a backup. I used the Samsung Smart switch software, which went through several updates, before it finally updated the phone itself to Marshmallow from Android ver 6.
This was the turning point, because although it still hadn’t backed up my phone, it did update the operating system to Marshmallow and lose what used to be an excellent mobile signal.
2 days later I’m still trying to get a mobile signal.
In desperation, after trying all the options that I and Google could think of, I used Samsungs online support, and spent a fruitless hour or so redoing all of the things that I had already tried and a few others as well.
Still no mobile signal. In desperation I did a (belated) backup, and then a factory reset. No signal. Tried the sim card in a friends phone and it worked perfectly.
Even tried using Odin to install an older factory firmware, but still no signal.
