Note 5 Only Charges When Phone Is Rebooted
Problem: The charging port only works after I reboot my phone, so I have to do this daily since my battery drains by the end of the day. I’m tried cleaning the port with compressed air but the problem still exists. Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue?
Solution: You should try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone. If you are still experiencing the same problem then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Stuck In Bootloop
Problem: My mum brought the phone to me asking me to fix it. It turned out the note 5 was bootlooping. So I tried to flash a new firmware I downloaded from Sammobile. The bootloop still continued, I then tried to boot into recovery mode that did not work. The maintenance boot mode comes up but when I select factory reset nothing happens it just vibrates shows the boot logo then goes off. Now I’ve tried flashing all the various firmwares for N920v from 5.0 – 7.0 non have worked. Please help me.
Solution: If flashing the phone with its stock firmware does not fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already most likely caused by a faulty component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Wireless Charging Not Working
Problem: My husband has a Galaxy Note 5 and it won’t charge on the wireless charger we have. I am a bit shocked because it is a Samsung Wireless Charger. His phone doesn’t show a charge and the charger does not display the blue light when he places his phone on it. Can you advise?
Solution: In order for the wireless charging to work properly the wireless charging pad, charging cord, and wall charger should all be working properly. Since the phone is not charging then the first thing that you need to do is to try using a different charging cord. If the issue persists then proceed with using a different wall charger. You should also make sure that the phone does not have a case installed as this can interfere with the charging process. The charging pad should emit a steady blue light when charging, if it is flashing then try to reposition the phone.
Note 5 Invalid SIM Card Error
Problem: Hi There, In 2016 I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy note 5 in America and used it since on multiple carriers with no issues. While charging the phone the other day I got the following error message. “Invalid SIM card. Network locked SIM card inserted. Tried the usual rebooting etc, no joy. I contacted my service provider and they tried a new SIM, same issue. This phone is branded to T mobile so I contacted them to see if they could offer any assistance. The IMEI number did not appear on their database. And again, no assistance could be offered. I downloaded the T mobile Device unlock, and its saying the device is not compatible. Can you guys offer any solutions.
Solution: You might be getting the invalid SIM card error because the phone has an invalid IMEI number. Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs once this is done. If it does occur then I recommend that you flash your phone with its updated stock firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Note 5 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I dropped my phone in water a day ago and for the first day it worked fine but when the battery went dead and i charged it the phone charged up completely but will not turn back on all i am getting is a black screen. what can i do ?
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the phone is thoroughly dry by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Remove the SIM card from the phone when you do this. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone has most likely suffered from water damage in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 No Notifications After Software Update
Problem: Hello Mr. Droid Guy; I’m messaging you because I’ve a Galaxy Note 5, my first phone connected with a plan/line… I don’t know of the software update until I checked up on my problem right now…. As you know that Note 5’s back can’t be opened like the Galaxy S series…. So I just call it my “iDroid Phone”…. wUpdate I can’t be updated/notified whenever anybody texted me nor when I have a notification to look at because it doesn’t ring even though it’s FULLY Maxed up volume…. How can I fix this problem?
Solution: Have you tried checking the notification settings of the phone and made sure that it is turned on? If it is and the problem persists then this is most likely caused by some old data that has not been completely removed during the update process. The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
