Note 4 Won’t Work Unless Plugged In Charger
Problem: My phone is fully charge and off the charger and when i start using it , it turns off and wont turn back on until i plug it in again. My phone wont work unless i have it plugged in. Sometimes it turns off saying 100% when i get it back on it will say 2% so i usually power it off and take the battery out when i get it on again it will say 53% i have already did the factory reset and it still wont stay on. I hope yall can help me figure this out
Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset which didn’t fix the problem what you should do next is to try to replace the battery of your phone. The battery of our phone might not be holding its usually charge anymore and is already faulty which can cause this kind of issue.
If replacing the battery does not fix the problem then this could already be caused by a component inside your phone that’s failing to work, possibly the power IC. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Won’t Charge When Powered On
Problem: The phone won’t charge when powered on. It will charge very slowly when the power is off. The charging indicator light shows it is charging but the battery drains pretty quickly. I tried a soft reset and checked the battery for any bulging. Thanks
Solution: There are several factors that can cause this problem which you need to check for this particular issue. Before doing the troubleshooting steps listed below make sure to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different charging cord as these cords break easily especially if they are constantly bent or coiled.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- Replace your battery with a new one.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s possible that this is already caused by an internal component that’s failing to work. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center if this is the case.
Note 4 Not Turning On
Problem: My phone will not power on I have had it sent off to find out that it is a motherboard issue that is preventing it from turning on and needs replacing at this point I just want another phone but my life is in my phone I want the information off of the phone but since it does not come on I am lost on how to retrieve my data.
Solution: Replacing the motherboard might fix the problem however you won’t be able to access your data. What you should do right now is to bring your phone to a service center that specializes in board level repairs and have your phone checked. There might just be one component in the board that isn’t working and just needs to be replaced.
Note 4 Will Not Turn On Or Charge
Problem: My Samsung galaxy note 4 will not turn on nor will it charge or do anything when plugged in with a charger cable or plugged into a laptop. I have changed the battery to a fully charged battery from a friends Note 4 and still does not power up. please help me?
Solution: Since you already tried replacing the battery with another one that is known to work which still doesn’t fix the problem then it’s possible that this is already caused by an internal hardware component that’s failing to work. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Powers Off And On Unless Connected To Charger
Problem: Hello, my problem is with my Samsung Galaxy note 4. The problem is, the phone will be fully charged, then it will get to about 60% or lower then will randomly power itself off and on. This process repeats until I connect it to the charger. Now I did try to hold the power button while it was restarting and it said it was dead. Once I connected it to the charger it said it was at 57%. I have looked for software updates, and there are none for it currently. I have tried taking the battery out, and putting it back in. I also have tried a factory reset. All these have led to no solution.
Solution: You can try replacing the battery with a new one as this looks like a battery related issue. If this problem still remains even with a new battery installed then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Randomly Resets Itself
Problem: Hi there My samsung note 4 randomly reset itself yesterday, I first though I accidently hit the power key. But then the phone goes to first samsung startup window, then resets again, and resets again not moving forward. It keeps resetting repetitively. No light show at top or lit up , phone just vibrates then first startup(black window with samsung galaxy note 4: powered by android). Then resets. Not sure about android version. Hope you can help.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.
If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card installed or if the issue still occurs even when the microSD card is removed then I recommend that you perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Remove the battery and microSD card ( if one is installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone can successfully turn on.
- Try starting the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart the phone.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone software with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular android forums online. Should this fail then it’s time to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Turns Off By Itself
Problem: First, phone would turn off by itself. Got a new battery and no change Rooted phone and tried to add new operating system, no help. Factory reset phone and it works sometimes. When the phone is left on it works. When I shut it off the phone will not start up again until I take out the battery for at least an hour. Sometime I can get it to start then. I have tried all of the suggestions that I have read. Is there any hope for me?
Solution: You can try replacing the battery with a new one. If this doesn’t work then this could already be a hardware related issue caused by a faulty component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Won’t Charge
Problem: Hi, my note 4 won’t charge. Whenever i plug in my charger it shows the charging screen for couple seconds and then it goes away and it constantly starts to beep. I’ve tried many different chargers and outlets and it still won’t work. I don’t know if there is a problem with my phone or my charger or the battery. Can you please help?
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air as this issue could be caused by the accumulation of dirt in the port. Once you have made sure that the port is clean try using a different charging cord when charging your phone. You should also check if your phone charges when plugged to the USB port of your computer. If it charges this way then the problem could be caused by a damaged pin in the charging port assembly. If this is the case you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Another factor that can cause this issue is a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem.
If the above steps don’t work then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Battery Discharges Quickly
Problem: Brand new just a month ago. Charges to 100 %. Sometimes lasts all day and night. Other times goes from 95 or 100% to zero instantly. Happened twice today, once after taking just 3 or 4 photos, then stuck in a reboot loop. Then again this afternoon, just turned it on, 100% charge, then checked 2 text messages and it said battery was critically low, then shut down. Now slowly recharging, but it was at 100% just 10 minutes ago. Now at 4%. What the?
Solution: Your phone might have a bad battery. Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem. Another factor that you should check is if the phone software is causing this problem. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still remains then you should have the phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Battery Not Charging To 100%
Problem: I have a note 4 and recently bought a new battery for it simply because I was having problems with it charging up to 88 and wouldn’t charge past that. I was thinking it was the battery but the phone does the same thing with the new battery. Could you tell me why does this happen?
Solution: Try using another charger and charging cord when charging the phone then check if the battery charges completely.
There are also instances when this issue can be caused by a glitch in the phone software. To check if this is the case you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Should the issue still occur even after the reset then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
