Note 4 Screen Is Blank After Drop
Problem: Hello the droid guy, I am experiencing trouble with my galaxy note 4. I had dropped my galaxy last summer and once I tried to charge it , the LED light came on yet the screen remained blank. I’ve always had a crack at the top left corner of the screen where a blue ribbon cable sticks a little. The phone buttons would light up, the fingerprint sensor works, volume buttons turn up and down. Everything else functions yet the screen won’t turn on. What should I do?
Solution: Try starting your phone in recovery mode and check if the screen works in this mode. If it works then there’s a chance that the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. You will then have to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. However, if the screen does not work in recovery mode then this could already be a hardware related problem caused by the drop. It’s either the ribbon connector of the display and motherboard has become loose or the display itself might be damaged. If this is the case then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Freezes With Colorful Lines
Problem: Hi The Droid Guy, Last night, I left my phone charging, then as I woke up my screen started to freeze. Then it gets worse; when I restarted my phone, the screen started to freeze again, then several colorful lines came up, and the phone started to make that continuous beeping sound! I appreciate your initiative to help fellow Android peeps and I look forward to your response! 😀 Thanks! Oh, and I’m not sure about my Android version…cause I’m not a techie and i miss some of the phone updates..
Solution: Does our phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even when the card is removed then you should do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then there’s a possibility that it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. It’s best to start with the last app that you installed before the issue occurred.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this step.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Is Blank But Responsive
Problem: Hi Droidguy, need your expert advise…please help to advise: Problem: Samsung note 4 LCD screen blank out but phone is still responsive, digitizer also working and can even receive incoming call Symptom prior damage: screen dim out and screen just black out Fixing approach : tried to removed ribbon cable and reseat back but still the same and even worst now the digitizer is gone too Kindly help to advise..thanks
Solution: The best way to tackle the problem right now is to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this deletes your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first. If the issue gets resolved then it could just be caused by a software glitch. If the issue still remains then it’s very likely that the display assembly of your phone is damaged. I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Screen Cracked Won’t Turn On
Problem: So I dropped my Note 4 and cracked , the screen doesn’t want to turn on but the notifications still work and the return and tabs buttons light up , when there’s incoming calls I can only answer them with my S Pen . Can you help me I don’t know what’s the issue
Solution: Since the screen of your phone is already cracked then there’s a possibility that it is already damaged and is causing this problem. The digitizer however is still working which is why the phone works with the S Pen. Unfortunately in this case the only way to fix this is to have the display assembly replaced at a service center.
Note 4 Screen Not Working After phone Dropped
Problem: My phone fell off my hands to the floor, the phone was working but the screen flickered and half of the screen started to turn purple/black then totally faded. I plugged it in my laptop using wondershare mirrorgo, i could see the phone, and i was able USE the phone, but no video was being displayed on the screen. I am from Cuba, my country is not listed. Please help.
Solution: You should try to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that your phone data will be erased once you do a reset.
If the screen still does not work even when starting the phone in recovery mode then it’s either the ribbon connector between the screen and motherboard has loosened or the display assembly has been damaged. In both cases you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Went Blank
Problem: Hi, Could you please help. I just paid off my phone and the screen went blank when I turned it on one day. I could hear the startup sounds and notifications of incoming texts, but just nothing came up on the screen. I found that the battery had a cracked corner, so bought a new one and it is doing the same thing? Cheers
Solution: You will need to check if the same issue occurs when you start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you should proceed with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the screen still does not work even in recovery mode then it’s either the connector wire between the display and motherboard is loose or the display assembly itself is damaged. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center if this is the case.
Note 4 Screen Flickering
Problem: My husband has a Galaxy Note 4 and tonight the screen started flashing while connected to the charger and we tried different chargers. Also, it flickers at times off the charger.
Solution: Try to start the phone in Safe Mode and check if it still flickers in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still occurs even after the reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
