Note 4 Crashes Switches Off
Problem: my note 4 keeps crashing and switching off, then i can’t get it back on i have to take the battery out and put it back in and sometimes when i switch it back on it comes up with the android local and says downloading dont turn off target but then it stays on it so then i have to take the battery back out to get rid of it, it also has rebooted itself too but it’s still crashing and switching off, have you any idea what’s up with it?
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next thing you should do is to check if the battery is causing this problem by replacing it with a new one.
If the above steps fail to fix the issue then it is most likely caused by a component inside your phone that’s failing. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center that does board level repairs and have it checked.
Note 4 Keeps Popping S Pen Detached
Problem: I have the Samsung galaxy note 4 through Verizon. The phone is a year old. When I have my s pen in the phone it keeps popping up s pen detached when I haven’t even used it I tried pulling it out and putting it back in several times that didn’t work. My Daughter went in and turned off all the settings and removed the s pen and put it in my dresser I want to be able to use it but I don’t know what is causing the problem. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Solution: There might be some dirt or dust build up in the S Pen slot that is interfering with its sensor. This sensor detects if the S Pen is inserted or not. You can try cleaning this slot using a can of compressed air.
You should also check if the phone software is causing this issue by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the same error message appears.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Shuts Off On Its On
Problem: My phone shuts off all throughout the day whether I’m doing something or not even touching my phone and I’m receiving messages late or my phone is not notifying me at all. This phone is only one month old it should not be doing this. Please help.
Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs while your phone is connected to a charger. If it doesn’t then this could be a power related issue which could be resolved by replacing your phone battery with a new one.
If the issue still occurs even when you have the phone connected to its charger then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset as this could be caused by a software glitch.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center as this looks like a hardware related issue.
Note 4 Screen Does Not Lock While On A Call
Problem: After I did the update to 5.1.1, my phone no longer will allow the screen to lock when I am on a call, even when a password or PIN is applied. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910A. If you need any further information, feel free to contact me. My wife’s phone does the same and she has the same model of phone. Is there an issue with Lollipop about this or is it something that is just a “hiccup”? I have tried rebooting in safe mode and the problem still exists. Does both phones need to be flashed or can it even be locked? What I mean is that, when we are on calls, we press the power button to lock it and then again to unlock it but it doesn’t require a password or PIN.
Solution: When you mean lock I assume that you mean the screen won’t turn off when taking a call. If this is the case then what you should do first is to make sure that there’s nothing blocking the proximity sensor located near the earpiece. Make sure that this area is clean. If your phone has a screen protector attached then try removing it.
Since you mentioned that this issue occured right after a software update then it could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed. If this is the case then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Invalid MMI Code
Problem: My note 4 will no longer run certain MMI or USSD codes since the marshmallow update. The only code it seems to run is the*#*#4636#*#* testing code. Other, more common codes, such as the one for call forwarding or data/text usage don’t work. I get an error that says: “Connection problem or invalid MMI code”. On a side note, my anti theft software can no longer detect the EMEI on my phone either. I can still make and receive calls/SMS/MMS. I’ve tried soft reset; hard reset; pinging, turning off the radio and then turning off SMS over IMS followed by a reboot; and even got a new SIM card. The problem keeps persisting though.
Solution: The issue could either be caused by a problem with the carrier or SIM card authentication on your phone. Try placing a comma at the end of the code and see if this works.
Since you already performed a factory reset which doesn’t fix the issue you should consider flashing your phone software with its updated firmware file. Instruction on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Lags After Software Update
Problem: I received an update for my phone and ever since I completed the update, my phone has been lagging. When I text the phone freezes up. Receiving texts has been delayed as well. It will show as downloading, the notification tone is also delayed. In any app the screen takes a long time to scroll. I’ve used different wifi’s and the problem still occurs. Can you please help? Solution: This issue is usually caused by old software data that wa not completely removed during the update process. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this problem.
Note 4 IMS Services Has Stopped
Problem: I have done a software update on my Samsung note 4 device but shortly after that update I’m not being able to access my device..It’s turning on but every time it reaches the home screen section after being turned on I keep getting pop ups saying phone has stopped & IMS services has stopped…this issue was happening for a day now…is there anyway u can assist?
Solution: This issue can usually be resolved by clearing the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager. If this doesn’t work then you should start your phone in Safe Mode. From here check if you are still getting the same error message. If the error doesn’t appear then it is most likely caused by a third party app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do should the above steps fail is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 4 Lagging Restarting
Problem: Hi I have a Samsung Note 4 and I have been using it for over a year. It is now lagging and at times restarts itself……I have factory reset and even cleared cache but still with no success of getting rid of this issue? I am wondering if could be a battery issue.
Solution: You should definitely try getting a new battery for your phone. If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it as well. If the issue still occurs then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be a hardware related issue.
