Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition launched at IFA

Leather is the new plastic for Samsung – with the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 both getting this stitched hoax-leather treatment. The soft touch back is more commendable than the cheap plastic, but it is an odd choice only Samsung would make.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is a very powerful tablet, running the 1.9GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor and fitted with 3GB of RAM for extra smooth multitasking, it is built for the next generation of users in mind. An 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera have been added to the tablet.

Samsung has put the 2560 x 1600 resolution screen on the Galaxy Note 10.1, this is the same panel they used for the Nexus 10. Some early tests show a bit of screen lag, but we are sure Samsung will optimise the tablet for the higher display before the release.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 will come in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage options, with WiFi only, WiFi and 3GB or LTE versions. Samsung will launch the Note 10.1 in 149 countries on September 25.

This does look like a very nice device, better than the previous Galaxy Note 10.1 and really pushing the Samsung tablet line. Now the question is can Samsung make TouchWiz less of a heavy UI and stick to making this a simplistic tablet.
