Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime available on Sprint starting July 10

Galaxy Grand Prime

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime was officially unveiled by the Korean manufacturer last year. Today, we’re getting word that Sprint will start carrying the handset starting July 10. The handset will be priced at $10 per month (24 months) on its monthly installment plan, while the full retail price is quoted to be $240.

The smartphone will be sold with a two-year contract for $29.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate), so you have all the options available to get the Galaxy Grand Prime from Sprint.

The handset comes with a 5 inch 960 x 540 resolution display, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 8GB of storage (expandable), 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, Android 5.1 Jelly Bean and a 2,600 mAh battery. The original Galaxy Grand Prime was running Android 4.4.4 when it was unveiled last year, but Samsung and Sprint are selling the device with Android 5.1 out of the box, which is a very good sign.

This is a midrange handset and might not score heavily on your benchmark applications, but for the price quoted here, it seems to be a very attractive offering. What do you think?
