Play Store and Android apps officially coming to Chrome OS

Chrome OS - Android apps

Before the Google I/O event commenced a few hours ago, it was largely believed that #Google w0uld have some good news in store for Chrome OS users. Well, that news has finally been broken, with Google announcing the imminent arrival of Android apps and Play Store for the Chrome OS platform. This would finally help the company bring its mobile and desktop ecosystem together, which can only mean great things for the customers.

This single-handedly resolves one of the Chromebook’s biggest complaints – lack of native applications. With this in mind, we think it could change the way people perceive Chrome OS machines going forward.

Google, unfortunately, has been relatively quiet on when customers can see Play Store on their Chromebooks and Chrome OS desktops, but it seems like the day won’t be far away now. Expect the Mountain View tycoon to offer more clarification soon, with some reports claiming that Google will come out with a word as soon as tomorrow.
