If your computer is running on Windows 11 ( or even Windows 10) and wondering if you can use this to create a password protected ZIP file then the answer is NO. Windows 11 or Windows 10 only allows you to create a ZIP file however it does not allow you to password protect this ZIP file.

If you would like to create ZIP files and folders in Windows without using a third party app then here’s how to do it.

You can now rename the ZIP file if you wish, by right-clicking on the file and selecting “Rename” from the context menu.

To add files to the ZIP file, simply drag and drop them into the ZIP file folder. You can also delete files from the ZIP file folder by selecting them and pressing the “Delete” key.

To extract files from the ZIP file, simply double-click on the file to open it, and then drag and drop the files you want to extract to a new location.
