LG Optimus 3D Getting Gingerbread Update With Improved 3D & HSPA+

This news should make LG Optimus 3D owners excited. It seems that the upcoming update to Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread has some other special treats in store.

A leaked build of the LG Optimus 3D update has appeared on XDA. It’s pretty normal to see an update appear in the wild before it actually gets pushed out. While we were expecting the latest version of Gingerbread what we weren’t expecting is some extra enhancements.

According to Android Central, the firmware update comes with 2D/3D video editing, 3D /2D video conversion, and higher bit rates for video.

On the HSPA+ side it looks like the LG Optimus 3D will provide speeds of up to 21mbps using HSPA+ on units that support that.

Androidcentral is reporting that the update itself isn’t totally stable yet but they still have a few weeks as we arent expecting to see it pushed out to Optimus 3D owners until November 21.  Also it’s unclear as to whether or not the LG Thrill on AT&T will receive the same update.
