LG G6 Screen Is Flickering Issue & Other Related Problems

The #LG #G6 is a flagship smartphone released this year which uses a large 5.7 inch IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio makes the device have the same footprint as the G5. Some of the best features of this phone include its dual rear camera setup one of which is a 13MP OIS camera while the other is a 13MP wide angle camera, an aluminum body with water and dust resistance, 4GB of RAM, and a 3300mAh battery. Although this is a solid phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the LG G6 screen is flickering issue & other related problems.

LG G6 Screen Is Flickering

Problem: My screen suddenly went darker than normal. There are shadows on all the big text, and there are wall to wall minute vertical lines flickering. We took it apart and pressed on the flex cable and made sure all the tiny parts are seated okay, but it still is flickering.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a damaged display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

LG G6 Stuck In Boot Logo

Problem: Hi team, like many people with LG phones I see I’m not the only one with this problem. I have a L6.The phone is stuck on rebooting, or the ‘LG powered by android’ keeps flashing, that is all it will do. I only bought this brand new in July. Last night it asked to update, began updating then then suddenly went to this mode the way it is now, flashing, and nothing else.Thank you.

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card then I suggest that you remove it first then restart the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case it still gets stuck in the boot logo then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Connect the phone to its all charger. Make sure that you see the charging symbol on the device. Try restarting the phone.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Sending Photo Multiple Times Using Stock Messaging App

Problem: When sending a picture using the text messaging app (built-in app) it will send the same photo MULTIPLE times. My mom said she got about 20 and my husband is telling me he’s still getting them (over 5 currently) and I have restarted my phone. How do I make this stop!? I told him to restart his….Good Lord now my friend said she got the same one 5 times from me. Aaaghhh! Help!

Solution: It’s possible that this problem is caused by a glitch in the messaging app. Try clearing the cache and data of this messaging app from the application manager. Once this is done delete the text messaging threads affected by this issue. Try checking again if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G6 Call Frozen When Connecting To Car Bluetooth

Problem: I was attempting to make a call to my wife in my chevy cruze via Bluetooth. The call seemed like it connected but the phone never rang over speakers and I could not hear anything on the phone itself. My wife’s name appeared on the radio display and the it froze. The radio had some static sound coming from the speakers and all radio functions/buttons became useless. My wife’s name is frozen on the screen. I can’t end the call which is stuck on the radio screen. My phone seems to be fine but i can’t get the radio to do anything. It wont even turn off. The radio displays my wife’s name as if were still on the call. Even when i turn off the engine and remove the keys from the ignition, my wife’s name still displays on the radio screen (this is a standard radio not a touchscreen). The stereo display screen won’t shut off! The steering wheel mounted call end button won’t work either. Everything on the radio is frozen. Buttons are all useless except the “Configure” button. ‘Configure’ allows me to go to “Phone Settings” but then it tells me that this feature will not work while on a call, even though I’m not on a call (apparently it’s still reading the call to my wife that it’s frozen on). I’ve never seen anything like this. My phone (LG g6) is about 3 weeks old and the Bluetooth worked fine in the car until now. I’ve disabled the bluetooth on the phone and unpaired the vehicle connection. Still nothing changes. I’m guessing that unplugging the stereo might reset it but will probably just take the car in to the dealer as it’s still under warranty. What a pain! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution: You should definitely try unplugging the radio then check if the issue occurs again. This might just be caused by a software glitch which should disappear after rebooting the radio and your phone.

Another step that you will need to consider is to update the radio firmware as there might be an update available. You should have this checked at the car dealer.

LG G6 Not Connecting To 4G LTE Network

Problem: Hello.Am having a problem with my phone .it wouldn’t always connect to 4g network even when this network is found. Other phones connect normally.MOST OF THE Time my phone connects to edge network.the LTE advanced option is always on and yet didn’t work.I hope u can solve my problem

Solution: If you are in an area with a strong LTE connection and other devices have an LTE signal except your phone then what you will want to do first is to check the network mode setting of your phone and make sure that it is set to LTE.

  • From a Home screen  navigate to Settings
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap System select.
  • Tap Network mode.
  • Tap GSM/ WCDMA/ LTE Auto

In case this option is already chosen and the issue still occurs then try inserting another SIM card in your phone that is known for getting a good LTE signal. If the issue remains then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Bluetooth Range Has Decreased

Problem: I have had my phone since US launch. I have all the system updates. The phone has no physical issues, charger port, screen cracks, dents or mars, it is in pristine physical condition. I have been noticing a decrease in my bluetooth range. i used to be able to connect my headset and leave my phone in the living room and it wouldn’t drop until i was across the apartment 15-20 feet. I have done a factory reset a couple months ago. I regularly do soft resets, about once every month or two. I connected to my bluetooth headphones yesterday to listen to some music and with direct line of sight to my phone I had about 5 feet range. if i put it in my jean pocket my reception went to crackly and cutting in and out.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to try to check if the Bluetooth device your phone is connecting to is causing the problem. Try connecting your phone to a different pair of Bluetooth headphones then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
