HTC’s Desire lineup to get a refresh on November 27

HTC Desire

The HTC Desire series of smartphones first broke cover in 2010 with much success. This was followed up by the Desire HD as a bigger and more powerful version of the Desire. However, things went downhill for HTC after that as Samsung began to emerge as a major player in the industry. And today, we have seen HTC succumb completely to Samsung’s popularity as it posted the first ever loss in its history during Q3 2013. But HTC might be going back to its roots according to a new teaser leaked by VR Zone. This teaser reveals that HTC could launch a new breed of Desire series of smartphones on November 27.

Unlike the original HTC Desire, the current lineup of Desire smartphones are nothing but midrange offerings launched predominantly in regions of Asia and Europe. So we don’t expect the new range of Desire smartphones to be any different. At one point, HTC was pretty hesitant on launching low end smartphones, but things are different now and the company finally realizes the importance of low end and midrange smartphones in the industry. HTC launched the Desire 601 on Virgin Mobile in the U.S. earlier this week, so we can expect the new smartphones to be an upgraded version of that.
