HTC One M8 Mini and M8 Ace phablet rumored

One M8

A new rumor has revealed the existence of the HTC One M8 mini as well as a large sized phablet called the M8 Ace. This comes just a day after the HTC One M8 was announced, so we’re taking it with a pinch of salt for the time being. This rumor stems from the ever reliable @evleaks on Twitter.

There’s no word on what the phablet will feature, but it could be something along the lines of the One Max from last year. The M8 mini is expected to come with a 4.5 inch HD display, a quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM, front facing BoomSound speakers and the entire suite of software features that we saw on the One M8 yesterday.

The One Mini and the One Max weren’t exactly the most popular devices in the market, largely due to the excessive pricing. However, HTC could change that with the successors. We’re hoping to have a word on the M8 mini soon while the M8 Ace could break cover in Q3 2014, much like the One Max did last year.

  1. Not really, in the Western markets. But they sell fairly better in the Asian markets. Because the smartphones don’t sell at subsidised rates there. You’ll have to buy the unlocked version, and they cost a fortune. So people usually go for the Mini or the Slim versions of the flagships.

  2. I wouldn’t be surprised. And its not much of a surprise, people are very sure these two variants are coming.

  3. they are just widening their product range, same with Sony’s z series and every other phone company

  4. Hmm… an HTC phablet. I wonder if they are trying to create a phone that will have as much success as Samsung’s Note phones. With a regular sized phone, a mini version of that same phone, and a mega-sized version, at this point it just sounds like they are copying Samsung turn for turn.

  5. Maybe we should just confirm it already. With every big name smartphone, there will be a Mini version of it on the way soon after release.
