There are several factors that can cause this particular problem ranging from issues with the cache and cookies to a DNS problem. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps you need to do to fix this problem.

Try clearing the cache and cookies

The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to remove the temporary data stored by  the browser application as this might be corrupted.

Chrome

  • Go to the three-dot menu at the upper-right of Chrome
  • Select Settings > Advanced > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data
  • From here you can select to delete  the history of your browsing, your download history, all your cookies, cached images and files , saved passwords and more.

Firefox

  • Go to the hamburger menu and the section Options > Privacy & Security.
  • In the Content Blocking section; scroll down to get to History.
  • Click on the Clear History button then  pick a time range to clear (1, 2, 4, or 24 hours—or everything), and what data to dump (history, logins, forms/search, cookies, and cache).

Edge

  • Go to the three-dot menu and select Settings > Privacy & security.
  • Click the button under Clear browsing data that reads “Choose what to clear.”
  • You can get rid of browsing history, cookies, cached data, stored form data, saved tabs, media licenses, website permissions, and stored passwords; click Manage Permissions and you can delete things like sites you’ve given permission to show pop-ups.

Safari

  • Click Clear History in the History menu.
  • In the pop-up, pick a timeframe for how far back you want to erase.

Disable browser extensions

If you have several extensions enabled in your browser then it’s possible that they are interfering with the Twitch stream.

Chrome

  • Open the Google Chrome browser.

Firefox

  • Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.

  • From the drop-down menu that appears, select the Add-ons option.
  • In the window that opens, click Extensions in the left menu.
  • Locate the extension you’re interested in disabling or removing.
  • On the right side of the extension, click Disable. I suggest doing this for all extensions.

Edge

  • Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
  • Select More  from the upper-right corner of the screen.
  • In the drop-down menu that appears, select Extensions.
  • From the list that appears, right-click on the extension you would like to remove, and then select Turn off to disable the extension or Uninstall to remove it. Do this for all extensions.

Safari

  • Open Safari.
  • Click the Safari menu.
  • Click Preferences…
  • Click the Security button.
  • Remove the checkmark next to Allow plug-ins.

Flush the DNS

There are instances when the problem is caused by a corrupted DNS setting. If this is the culprit then the best thing you can do is to flush the DNS.

  • Click on the “Search bar” and type in “Command Prompt“.
  • Right–click on the “Command Prompt” icon and select “Run as Administrator“.
  • At the command prompt windows , type ipconfig/flushdns then press the enter key
  • This will now completely reinitialize the DNS cache.
