How To Fix The Honor 7C Can’t Send MMS Issue

Make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version before doing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first. This minimizes the possibility of the problem being caused by an outdated software version.

In order for your phone to successfully send and receive an MMS it must first satisfy two conditions. First, it must have an active mobile data subscription and that it is getting a strong mobile data signal preferably LTE. Second, it should have the correct APN settings. These settings are unique for each carrier so make sure to compare your phone APN settings to what your carrier is using and make the necessary changes in your device if needed.

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Wireless & networks
  • Tap Mobile network
  • Tap Access Point Name
  • Tap the Menu button
  • Tap Reset to default
  • Your phone will reset to default Internet and MMS settings. Try to check if you can send an MMS. If not then create a new APN setting.
  • Select the Menu button and select New APN
  • Enter the correct APN settings.

In case your phone meets both conditions and the issue still persists then you should proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode

Sometimes an app you downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store can cause this problem. This usually happens if the app has bugs or if it has compatibility issues with your device affecting the MMS functionality. To check if this is the case you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Power off the phone by holding down the power button for a few seconds.
  • Press and hold the power button and release it when you see the Huawei logo on screen.
  • After releasing the Power key, immediately press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Keep holding the Volume key till the phone completely boots up.
  • Once the phone boots up,  “Safe mode” should appear on the bottom of the screen

In case the issue does not occur in this mode then it’s likely that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

There are cases when the cached data stored in the dedicated partition of the phone can become corrupted. When this happens this will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you will have to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume UP button along with Power button on your  device simultaneously for a few seconds
  • The phone will enter the stock recovery mode
