How to fix Samsung Galaxy A6s that won’t turn on

The new Samsung Galaxy A6s comes packed with really impressive technical specs but just like any other smartphones in the market today, it’s far from being perfect so you can expect some hiccups from time to time. Among the most common problem  you may probably encounter is when the phone no longer responds or turn on and has a black screen.

In this post, I will share with you the solution we’ve been using to address a problem like this. While it may seem like a very complicated hardware problem, in reality, it’s just another firmware issue that you can fix on your own. What to do if your Galaxy A6s no longer turns on

A firmware crash can become like a very serious problem but if it’s really the issue with your phone, you don’t have to worry as you don’t need to send it back for repair. Here are a couple of things you can do to make your Galaxy A6s respond again.

Solution #1: Perform the Forced Reboot / Soft Reset

This must be the first thing you should do especially if the problem occured without any apparent cause because more often than not it’s just a firmware crash. The forced reboot or soft reset is actually a simulated battery removal procedure which refreshes your phone’s memory as well as reloads all its apps and services. Your device is hard-wired to respond to it and here’s how to do it:

If done correctly and if the problem is due to a firmware crash, then your device must already be booting up by now. However, if it doesn’t respond to it, then you should try this:

  1. Press and hold the volume down button first and don’t let go.
  2. Now, press and hold the power key while holding down the volume down button.
  3. Keeps both keys held down together for 10 seconds or more.

It is the same as the first procedure but this time we’re making sure that you press and hold the power key after the volume down button because doing it otherwise won’t give you the same result. If, however, the device is still not responding after this, then try the next procedure.

Solution #2: Charge your phone and perform the Forced Reboot again

Another possibility we have to look into is that the battery might have been drained completely that’s why your phone isn’t responding anymore. If you’ve already tried connecting the phone to its charger and it didn’t charge, then you might be dealing with a couple of minor issues that both result to an unresponsive device–drained battery and firmware crash.

When you let the phone run out of battery, there’s always a chance that the firmware will crash as some services and components are not properly shut down. To address such possibility, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Plug the charger to a working wall outlet.
  2. Connect your phone to its charger using the original cable.
  3. Regardless whether your device shows it’s charging or not, leave it connected to the charger for 10 minutes or so.
  4. After which, press and hold the volume down button first and don’t let go.
  5. Now, press and hold the power key while holding down the volume down button.
  6. Keeps both keys held down together for 10 seconds or more.

Assuming the problem is due to a drained battery that resulted to a firmware crash, then your Samsung Galaxy A6s should already be starting up by now. If not, then it’s time to bring it back to the store so that a technician can check it up for you.
