Hardware specs of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active seemingly confirmed

Galaxy S6 Active

A reputed Samsung source has managed to confirm the hardware specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active which has been making its way to the rumor mill for a few days now. Contrary to previous reports though, it is said that the Galaxy S6 Active will pack a 5.1 inch 2K resolution display, much like the Galaxy S6.

The smartphone is also expected to be water and dust resistant, which adds up to the overall bulk of the device. The handset has dimensions of 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8mm which essentially means its bigger and thicker than the Galaxy S6. This is an understandable trade off considering that Samsung has brought water resistance to the device.

The Galaxy S6 Active is also expected to be packing a mammoth 3,500 mAh battery, which is another key area of improvement on the handset. The rest of the hardware specs on the smartphone are unchanged, which means you will find a 16-megapixel camera sensor, an octa core Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

The smartphone will reportedly arrive on AT&T first, which was always expected as the carrier has sold the first two iterations of the Active series on its networks.

  1. Can it even do the basics… like older phones…. battery swap… memory expansion?
Why would I buy a new phone that does *LESS* than my old $50 phone?
