Google Play Edition Galaxy S5 leaks out in a new image

GPE Galaxy S5

There has been talk about the Google Play Edition Galaxy S5 launching soon, although we haven’t seen it materialize yet. However, it seems like the device might not be far away with a new leak giving us a glimpse of the smartphone yet again. This new revelation is made by Evleaks, which has always been a reliable source with leaks.

The smartphone passed through Bluetooth certification and also made a brief appearance on the Play Store a few months ago before eventually being taken down. So we know that the smartphone exists, although there’s no telling as to when the smartphone will go official.

It will be interesting to see if features like the fingerprint scanner and the heart rate monitor will be functional with the GPE Galaxy S5 as it will run a stock version of Android without TouchWiz. Perhaps Samsung can bring these features with a dedicated app on the Play Store. Perhaps this is the reason why the smartphone hasn’t arrived yet while the GPE HTC One M8 was immediately launched by Google.
