Method 1: How to hard reset on Xiaomi Pocophone F1 under Settings menu

  8. Select “Reboot” and “Reboot to system” by using the Power button.
  9. The last step is to select “OK” by using the Power key.
  10. Set your phone up again.

Use Safe Mode. If virus infection is not severe and you can still use your device normally from time to time, you should try the Safe Mode route first. Android malware are usually spread by bad apps. Apps that spread adware are prevalent nowadays. Apps of these apps usually want to track your browsing habits and steal data and other information. They can also allow more bad apps to be installed without your knowledge. To check if your phone is infected by such apps, boot the phone to safe mode.

  1. Your device must be powered on.
  2. Press the power button on phone.
  3. When the power off, restart, airplane mode, wifi mode, etc. menu will be displayed, release the power button.
  4. Now, long press the power off word on screen.
  5. Keep pressing this word until the Android Safe Mode message is being displayed on your phone.
  6. Select to reboot into Android Safe Mode.

  1. Boot to safe mode.

  4. After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.

  1. Open the Chrome app.
  2. Go to a webpage.
  3. To the right of the address bar, tap More icon (three dots).
  4. Tap Information icon (circle with an i).
  5. Tap Site settings.
  6. Under “Permissions,” tap Notifications.
  7. If you don’t see “Permissions” or “Notifications,” the site doesn’t have notifications turned on.

How to hard reset on Xiaomi Mi 8 (factory reset or master reset)

There are two ways to factory reset, also known as hard reset, on Xiaomi Mi 8. The first one is done by going under Settings while the other one is by using a hardware button combination to access Recovery Mode. Learn how to do each of these methods below.

Method 1: How to hard reset on Xiaomi Mi 8 via Settings Menu

This should be the first option that you need to use if you plan on wiping the device. The steps are easy and can be done under 2 minutes. Before you proceed, make sure to follow these two basic things:

Restart the device

Clear cache partition

Android OS uses a special cache called system cache to load apps quickly as well as do other tasks efficiently. Sometimes, this cache may get corrupted or becomes outdated, which results to all sorts of bugs. To ensure that your phone has good system cache, you want to clear its cache partition once every few months. This is easy to do and won’t take a minute. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Power OFF your phone. This is important. You can’t boot to Recovery Mode if your phone is on when pressing the hardware button combinations below.
  2. Boot into the recovery mode with these steps:
  3. Press both Volume Down and Power buttons and hold them together.
  4. Once the boot menu or logo appears, release the buttons.
  5. Now choose the Recovery mode and enter into it.
  6. You should be entered into the recovery mode.
  7. Under the recovery mode, tap on Wipe Cache Partition.
  8. Perform this action by following the on-screen instructions.
  9. Once you are done, exit this mode.

Reseat the SIM card

Sometimes, physically removing the SIM card from the device can fix network problems. If you haven’t tried this yet, be sure that you do. Problem: Xiaomi Pocophone F1 stuck in boot loop and won’t turn on

Hello dr.guy, seriously I’m swear this is the most weird funny situation what you can find My Xiaomi Pocophone F1 was working well but for some reason, (I guess I use this phone with full sd card always and something erased important thing in this device idk what was that).

My Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is in coma. First I can charge it but if I connect the charge cable, it just booted in a loop. And when I saw the boot screen, I can see the noise bar mark under the logo, bottom line And next black screen (you know always you can see the next logo like at&t or smtg but no) with blue let light And booting again! Wow! Awesome!! You know what? I thought it was a battery issue but no, seriously no. It was works rarely (I can use this phone before but I tried battery replacement once = bootloop again = not works again) but I can’t turn on this now.

I think this cellphone couldn’t check the battery voltage clearly. (on board so i think this is board or cache issue) So I wanna try to controlling the battery voltage for booting but I don’t have any that kinda machine at all.

Please help me and this phone was spent the battery quickly before when this works normally (again I think the board issue) And or maybe removed some parts something. Clearly if this phone connected battery or cable? = starts the boot loop. And seriously I wanted to try that cache erase but no I couldn’t. Please help me I think if I bought some other phone for moving to there (memory chip only with BGA) maybe it must rebooting again bcs i use this phone with full sd card space…. Solution: Fixing an issue like this is not straightforward. There are a number of possible reasons for it so you must do a set of troubleshooting steps to know the real reason. Follow our suggestions below on how to fix this problem.

Forced reboot

The first troubleshooting step that you don’t want to miss in this situation is to see if you can make your phone work properly after simulating the effects of a “battery pull.” In older devices with removable battery packs, one of the ways to fix unresponsive or boot loop issues is by disconnecting the battery. Since your Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has a non-removable battery pack, it’s borderline impossible for you to do that. What you can do now is to simulate the effects of that old but proven solution with the help of a couple of  hardware buttons. The next step that you want to do in this case is to ensure that you leave enough power in your device’s battery. Make sure to charge it for at least 30 minutes or an hour before you continue with the steps below. Sometimes, having low battery level can make a device unstable so you want to make sure that there’s more than enough power before doing anything. For this to succeed, be sure to use official charging accessories only.

Calibrate

Charging problems can sometimes also be caused by a software bug. For instance, charging can become erratic sometimes if the device has run for a long time without stopping. This can cause Android to lose track of true battery levels, which may then lead to premature shutdowns. In other cases, it can also cause the phone to charge improperly. To check if your device has trouble detecting battery levels, we suggest that you calibrate it at this time. Here’s how:

  1. Drain the battery completely. This means using your device until it powers down by its own and the battery level reads 0%.
  2. Charge the phone until it reaches 100%. Be sure to use original charging equipment for your device and let it charge up completely. Do not unplug your device for at least two more hours and also don’t use it while charging.
  3. After the elapsed time, unplug your device.

Solution 1: Perform the Forced Reboot procedure

One of the common issues that we come to encounter for this device though is with its fast charging capability. There’s been a few number of users reporting that the device’s fast charging can be problematic. While we don’t think this is widespread, we provide the troubleshooting steps below on how to deal with the problem.

Solution: The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 uses the latest Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ charging technology that boasts of being able to top up large capacity batteries. In your device, which has a Li-Po 4000 mAh battery, this means a full charge can occur in under 2 hours. We’ve tried charging our own Pocophone F1 in both OFF and ON states and there’s a 10 minute difference. When totally powered down, the Pocophone F1 charges for less than 2 hours, about 1 hour and 50 minutes. When powered on and on standy, full charging takes about 2 hours. We did not experience any fast charging issues as of yet so the cases above may be isolated.

To troubleshoot a fast charging issue on the Pocophone F1, these are the things that you can try.

Use original charging accessories

Quick Charge 4+ technology only works with the right accessories. If you use non-Xiaomi cable or adapter, or an aftermarket accessory that doesn’t support Quick Charge 4+, you won’t get the benefit of fast charging technology on your Pocophone F1.

Reset app preferences

A lot of Android users don’t know that apps don’t work by themselves. Instead, they make use of other apps and default services to deliver what they promise. Sometimes, these necessary apps may be deleted or disabled. To ensure that all default apps needed by other apps or Android are working as they should, you must reset all app preferences. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Installed apps.
  3. Tap More options at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  4. Tap Reset app preferences.
  5. Tap Reset apps to confirm.
  6. Restart the phone and check for the problem.

Factory Reset

Workaround: Charge the phone when it’s OFF

Should nothing work after a factory reset, turn off the phone and charge it. If there’s no issue with your

  • charging cable,
  • adapter, and
  • phone itself,

fast charging should work. If the problem remains, that means one of them is the culprit.

Get the phone checked

Fast charging is one of the main selling points of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1. If it doesn’t do that, it does not deserve to be considered a top device. If fast charging remains erratic or won’t work at all after doing all the stuff above, contact its manufacturer so it can be repaired or replaced.
