Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries that you can visit. It sits at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe, right on the Adriatic Sea. That said, there are some beautiful landscapes and scenic views to see in the country, making it one that's worth traveling to, experiencing the culture, and just seeing overall what the country has to offer. However, before you head off, you need to make sure that you have the best international SIM for traveling to Croatia. After all, you don't want to come back to some ridiculous roaming charges, do you?
By picking up a local or international SIM card, you save tons of money on roaming charges. Not only that, but you get faster, higher speed data, too. Follow along below, and we'll show you five of our favorites. Let's dive right in.
Coming up as first on our countdown, we have the Orange Holiday SIM. Orange has over thirty countries that you can use this SIM card in, providing you with high-speed data, talk, and text in most popular EU tourist destinations, including Croatia. Easily stay in touch with family and friends while abroad with this SIM card, especially with the ability to send photos and videos fast with the 4G LTE connection.
Orange offers you one of the better deals for data during international travels to countries like Croatia. That said, they give you a whopping 10GB of 4G LTE data that you can use for 14 days. Orange gives you up to two hours of talk time, and then another 1,000 SMS messages to use, also with the ability to top off as needed.
UK Europe ThreeUK SIM Card
Next, we're looking at ThreeUK's best international SIM card option. The company has a ton of different SIM packages that you can choose from, but this one in particular might be their best yet. You get access to a whopping 12GB of data, 3000 minutes in talk time and 3000 messages. They compete with Orange pretty good here.
And, when you're running low on data, you can easily top off and refill whenever.
Mobal Europe Plus SIM
Now, we have the Mobal Europe Plus SIM. It might not sound too impressive, but to start, you get 1GB of data to use. Mobal estimates that that should last you a couple days with minor use while in Croatia. But, when running low, you can top off whenever you need to make it last through your trip. One thing that's quite unique about the Mobal SIM is that they give you unrestricted tethering. With most carriers, there is a service charge of some sort attached to hotspots, but Mobal allows you to use it for free.
Additionally, you can accept incoming calls from people in over 130 different countries and even get incoming text messages, all for free. However, Mobal charges extra for the outgoing side of that, charging 30¢ per minute rates in all countries.
Internet with legs Trio
Next, we're looking at ThreeUK's unique SIM card setup. Called the "Internet with legs Trio SIM card" you get a whole 3GB of data for on the go use in Croatia. That's not a bad amount as well.
What we really like about this SIM card in particular is that it works as a "try before you buy" sort of option. ThreeUK actually gives you free roaming in the US to make sure it works with your phone before committing to it.
Keepgo Global Lifetime SIM Card
Keepgo's Global Lifetime SIM card is last on our list, and comes with some of the lowest data options yet; however it's still significantly better than simply going with your carrier's roaming charges. That said, they only provide you with 1GB of data here, but you can refill as needed.
Keepgo's SIM card could be sort of looked at as a throwaway SIM. The SIM card only stays valid for 1 year, however, you can avoid it expiring by at least refilling the data once a year. That said, we should let you know that they're providing you with data only here, with no texting or phone abilities at all. Additionally, it only works with unlocked GSM phones.
These five are some of the best international SIM cards for traveling to Croatia; however, we think that the option from Orange is your best bet, giving you tons of data to use at an affordable price point.
