AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon now offering calls to Turkey at discounted prices

The Istanbul Airport in Turkey saw a deadly terrorist attack yesterday, leading to the death of several innocent lives. Understanding the gravity of the situation, the top four American carriers are now offering calls and text messages for free from the U.S. to Turkey. While the likes of T-Mobile and Sprint are extending the discounted call rates until Tuesday, July 5, AT&T is ceasing its discounts on June 30 while Verizon is ending it on June 29 i.e. today.

T-Mobile’s discounts are applicable to customers of MetroPCS, T-Mobile Simple Choice, GoSmart Mobile, and WalMart Family Mobile plans as well. Sprint is cutting down roaming, long distance fees to and from Turkey/U.S. The carrier will also have its discounts running till the 5th of July.

AT&T will credit all calls and text messages made to Turkey subsequently (applicable for calls made to Turkey between June 28-30), while Verizon is also offering calls and texts for free between June 28-29. Regardless of the discounts offered by the carriers, it’s good to see that they’re united in their mission to help people in their time of grief.
