ASUS tablet with Intel’s 64bit chipset leaked through AnTuTu

ASUS M8X AnTuTu AnTuTu has revealed the existence of another new device today and this time it’s an ASUS tablet. But unlike any other device leaks, this one here is a bit interesting as it appears to pack Intel’s much anticipated 64-bit Bay Trail chipset. Back in November, it was reported that tablets with the said chipset could break cover this year and this could well be the first of them. The tablet is known as the M8x and it could well be an experimental device or a prototype as the rest of the specs sound pretty underwhelming.

The leak reveals 2GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and a 1280×800 resolution display with Android 4.2.2 rounding off the list. But it’s the Intel Z3740 Bay Trail chipset which has caught our attention and with good reason. Ever since Apple unveiled the iPhone 5s with the 64 bit A7 chipset, manufacturers have been rushing to get their own 64 bit chipset out there. Qualcomm recently unveiled its own 64 bit mobile chip while Samsung is also rumored to be working on its 64 bit chip known as the Exynos 6.
