ASUS seems to be working on a refresh to its MeMo Pad 7 tablet according to a new leak. And interestingly, this new version of the company’s popular 7 inch tablet is said to be running on an Intel Bay Trail processor.

We knew that Intel is vying to get into the Android segment again after its plans for the smartphone market didn’t quite come to fruition. Rumors have even indicated that Google might use an Intel made SoC for the upcoming Nexus tablet.

The tablet is said to be featuring a 7 inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM and 8/16GB of internal storage. We’re guessing it will run Android 4.4 out of the box although there’s no confirmation of that at the moment.

The processor running on the new MeMo Pad 7 is the 1.3 GHz quad core Atom Z3745 with a 1.8 GHz turbo boost, akin to Intel’s desktop and notebook CPUs. It is said that the manufacturer will offer the tablet in bright colors including the standard white and black options. Going by the hardware specs sheet, we don’t expect the pricing to be steep.
