Asus Expected To Launch 7″ Tablet At CES 2012

While we are rounding out our CES 2012 schedule and checking all the rumors we’ve stumbled across the latest tablet rumor. Asus is believed to be introducing a new 7″ tablet reportedly being called the Eee Pad MeMo.

The 7″ tablet will join the ranks of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0, Acer Iconia A100, and the Toshiba Thrive 7″.¬† While it doesn’t spec out quite as nicely as the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, we are expecting it to have a 1.2 ghz dual core Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and a 1280×800 display. We’ve also heard it was sport dual cameras with a 5 megapixel on the rear and a 1.3 megapixel on the front.

There’s no word on pricing but we are anticipating a shift in 7″ tablet pricing after the wild success of the Amazon Kindle Fire. Expect the MeMo (mee-mo not memo) tablet to come in the $200-$300 range and hopefully the latter.
