Android’s Stock Browser Now Most Used Mobile Browser In The World

With the growth of Android continuing to 850,000 activations a day, there is obviously going to be some other milestones that our favorite OS is reaching. The most recent is the Android browser now being the most used mobile browser across the globe.

In a recent report from StatCounter, Android’s stock browser now holds 22.67% share of the mobile browsing world. Android devices however, allow users to choose what browser they would like to use by downloading any number of them from the Android Market. When this is taken into account as well, Android as a whole, holds even more than 22.67%, because third-party browsers aren’t factored in, just the stock Android browser. Opera browsers come in a close second with 21.7%, and Apple devices hold third with 21.06 percent, making a huge jump from 18.41% in 2011.

Android browsers have been taking over the mobile market for a while now, and it’s interesting to know that the stock browser would take the cake as the most used throughout the world, even with all of the popular¬†alternatives¬†such as Dolphin browsers and of course Firefox and Chrome. The growth of these browsers could definitely change things in 2012-2013, and it’s exciting to see just who and what people are actually using on a day-to-day basis.
