AMD Might Debut the Next-Gen Radeon HD 8000 at the E3 2013

AMD confirmed that it will be participating on the next E3 2013 convention. According to news from the WCCF Tech website, the company confirmed that it will be showcasing its latest innovations and its next-generation products during the event. Although there was no specific mention in the announcement about the next-generation AMD Radeon graphics card that the firm will unveil, the source speculates that it might be the Radeon HD 8000.

The Statement of AMD

Here is an excerpt of the AMD announcement which was published by the source:

“AMD is making its way to E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), the world’s premier trade show for all things gaming, taking place from June 11 to 13, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. E3 attendees will be able to experience AMD-powered next generation gaming in person. Our newest innovations in desktop, tablet, notebook and console processing, and the latest AMD Radeon™ graphics cards, will all be on full display.”

What Consumers Can Expect From the New Radeon HD 8000

Based on the report, AMD said that the new chips will have better cooling features than the previous ones. Then, it will be made in compatibility with the upcoming installment of the Battlefield series. Aside from this information, nothing else about the new GPU has been revealed so far.

AMD Going Head-to-Head with NVIDIA

The source stated that this is the perfect time for unveiling of the new Radeon HD 8000 because NVIDIA has already released its GeForce GTX780 and GeForce GTX 770. Right now, AMD has no product that can take the GeForce GTX 780 head on, which is near the capabilities of the $1000-worth GeForce GTX Titan.

The report further explained that the Radeon HD 7990 may be the fastest card out there but it is currently a dual chip card which is nothing in comparison to the single chip of the GeForce GTX 780 and GeForce GTX Titan. So, the Radeon HD 8000 might be a good answer to them if AMD wants to keep its name in the game.
