Acer’s Re-Up For The A500 Tablet Coming To The U.S. & Canada For $450

Earlier this year we heard about Acer’s re-up for the A500 tablet. The A500 tablet, introduced last year, was a solid honeycomb tablet that fell in-line with similarly spec’d tablets.

The new A510 is a quad-core tablet featuring Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. It has a 10.1 inch display at a resolution of 1280x 800. There’s a 5 megapixel rear shooter and a 1 megapixel camera up front for video chatting.

Acer has traded in the USB 2.0 port and instead given the A510 a bigger battery which is said to run for a good 12 hours of use.

More after the break

The A510 is also shipping with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. You can preorder the A510 now at just $450 in your choice of white or black. The $450 price tag is for a 32gb version. There’s no word on when it will ship but Acer isn’t known for long pre-order periods.

“The new Acer Iconia Tab A510 will exceed the expectations of customers who are ready to embrace using their tablets for more fun, entertainment and a first-rate mobile gaming experience,” said Paul Tayar, director of product marketing for connected devices, Acer America. “Our second-generation Acer A510 builds on the success of its award-winning predecessor with notable improvements in performance, responsiveness and ease-of use, elevating it to the status of ultimate mobile companion. Plus, the tablet will really surprise people with its comprehensive suite of productivity apps that will enable them to remain productive and connected on-the-go.”

The tablet is shipping with Polaris office and Evernote on board. We highly recommend downloading Meshin recall to compliment your Evernote. It also features Acer Print which allows you to print wirelessly through your tablet.  Acer Print supports 87% of commercially available printers.

In the entertainment realm the Acer A510 has a microHDMI out which you can plug into an HDMI tv or projector.
