Acer unveils the A1-830 tablet for $179.99, coming to the U.S. and Canada by March

Acer A1-830Acer has just unveiled a new budget tablet ahead of the CES event called A1-830. The tablet isn’t specs heavy which is understandable as the company has priced this at $179.99. Acer however has paid close attention to the exterior of the tablet which is made of aluminum rather than plastic. The tablet houses a 7.9 inch display with a resolution of 1024×768 which is not that great, but not too bad either considering the price. The A1-830 also features a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor which promises battery life of over 7.5 hours with continuous usage.

The tablet also comes with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, front and rear cameras of unknown resolution and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Acer will sell the Acer Crunch Cover and the Crunch Keyboard along with the tablet as additional accessories. Acer will reportedly bring the A1-830 tablet to the U.S. and Canada before the end of March for the aforementioned price. It will be interesting to see if this new budget tablet will manage to compete with the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX in the U.S.
