S7 Keeps Restarting And Freezing

Problem: Hello Droid Guy, Great work you are doing I must say My new Samsung Galaxy S7 keeps restarting and freezing whenever I use the play store to download apps. It works fine on its own and I am enjoying it but whenever I try to install apps the phone keeps restarting and freezing in a loop. I have done a factory reset but the problem still persists. What could be the problem. HELP!!! Regards

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version and that the Google Play Store app you are using is updated. These system updates will improve your phone and could fix this problem.

Once you have made sure that the phone is running on an updates software yet the problem persists then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try to remove this first as this might be causing the problem.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Not Responding After Getting Dropped

Problem: i dropped it and the screen first went all green and later would just be black. the phone doesn’t seem to respond to touch though the back and close apps button lights up and the light at the top still works and i was wondering if the lcd or something is broken

Solution: If you dropped your phone then the most likely component that will get damaged is the display. The chances of this being the case is high since you mentioned that the lights of your phone still work. To confirm this further try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the issue could just be caused by a software glitch. There are two things you can do in this mode. First you can wipe the cache partition of your phone which erases the temporary system files. Second you can do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase all data in your phone.

If the screen doesn’t work even in recovery mode then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Charging On Power Bank

Problem: OK, my issue isn’t when it’s plugged into a wall outlet, the problem is when it happens to be plugged into an external battery. I usually don’t plug it into that till it’s around 20% left on the power. However it seems that after the last OS update (from what I’m figuring), it doesn’t want to charge up any more unless it happens to be connected to an outlet. Is there any way that this might be fixed at all?

Solution: What you should do first is to check if the problem is caused by the power bank or the USB cord that you are using. To verify this you need to use different power banks and different USB cords.

If the problem persists then what you should do next is to clean the charging port of your phone. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be present in the charging pins of the port as this could cause this kind of problem.

You should also verify if the phone charges via the USB port of your computer. If it doesn’t charge via the USB port then there’s a chance that the charging port of your phone is faulty. Verify this further by backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Should the issue remain then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Fully Charging When Using Fast Charge Feature

Problem: My galaxy s7 will not charge fully if using fast charging feature, it stops charging at 85%. But when i turn off the fast charging feature, it charges 100%.

Related Problem: My new galaxy s7 was charging properly for the first 2 weeks and now as soon as I plug the charger in, the toggle switch for fast charging turns off, and it just “cable charges” which takes 6-7 hours. It does charge in this mode, but fast charging will not work. My daughter has the s6 and her fast charging cable doesn’t work either on my phone, although mine works for her.

Solution: The fast charging feature of this phone, as the name states, charges the phone at a much quicker time. There are however certain conditions that your phone should meet for the fast charging feature to become effective.

  • Make sure to use the Samsung Fast Adaptive Charging charger when charging your phone.
  • Make sure to use a USB cord that’s known to work.
  • Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Make sure that your phone screen is off when charging.
  • Try charging your phone when it is off.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then try to check next if a glitch in the phone software is causing this issue by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data after the reset.

S7 Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s7 died and when I try to plug it into my fast charger, it wont charge, it only shows the charging symbol. I’ve switched charging ports, checked the usb port for erosion or debris, and there is no problem there. When i plug it into the charger it will respond but only for about 5 seconds, and then the screen will go black. This keeps happening, and i don’t know what happened because it charged yesterday easily.

Solution: This particular issue could already be caused by an internal hardware component that is failing to work possibly the charging or power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S7 Not Turning On After Fully Charged

Problem: Hi Since my phone died completely 24 hours ago, it hasn’t come on since when it has been fully charged. I have tried to restart it by pressing the volume down button and the lock button simultaneously but nothing has worked. Now it seems to be frozen in recovery mode. the blue light has been on and it seems like red coding has come up. i cannot get off this, it has been more than 7 hours. Thanks

Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then access the recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode try the following steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then the phone software might be corrupt. You should consider flashing the stock firmware file back to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

  1. My Samsung S7 screen has been splitting when i scroll without that setting being on. Never have I seen any split screen controls. It has been returning to normal after I mess with it. Just when I thought I had it figured out today, it has now locked int split screen mode. I called Samsung and while on the phone it miraculously fixed itself. So we couldn’t trouble shoot it. His best guess was software update which I did and it disconnected us. He never tries calling back be the way…Split screen resumed, frozen this time. So I can only ever see half my screen. I trouble shot all the basic things up to a reboot. Nothing helped, so I did a complete factory reset. Still stuck but of course now I cant log into much with half a screen. Please Help!!!
