Tape Measure uses your phone’s camera — paired with some augmented reality technology — to give you measurements.
It can be a little picky, requiring you to keep the phone at eye level in order to take measurements. If you get the markers just right, Tape Measure can easily be as accurate as any physical tape measure out there.

Our favorite pick is an app that goes back to the basics — yes, we’re talking about Ruler by NixGame. This one doesn’t use your camera to take measurements, so it’s actually just a standard ruler.
That means you’ll have to put your phone up close and next to the object that you’re measuring, but because of the limits of screen sizes, you can only measure about 10-inches at a time. NixGame’s Ruler app does allow you to change the measurement type, allowing you to grab measurements in centimeters, meters, and feet.
