How to fix Xiaomi Pocophone F1 “Emergency calls only” bug
“Emergency calls only” bug may not be a bug at all. Sometimes, it’s an indicator of an on-going network problem and not necessarily a device problem. We highly recommend though that you try the device troubleshooting below.
Restart the device
“Emergency calls only” can sometimes be a result of a network bug. In most cases, it happens if the signal in a certain area is weak as indicated by poor signal bars on the device. If you keep on showing “Emergency calls only” in a particular area or during a certain time frame in a day, there may not be a device problem at all. It is most likely an indication that you are in poorly covered location. To see if you can force the device to reacquire the signal, consider simulating the effects of a battery pull. All you need to do is to press and hold the Power key and Volume Down button for 15 seconds or more.

Clear cache partition
Android OS uses a special cache called system cache to load apps quickly as well as do other tasks efficiently. Sometimes, this cache may get corrupted or becomes outdated, which results to all sorts of bugs. To ensure that your phone has good system cache, you want to clear its cache partition once every few months. This is easy to do and won’t take a minute. Here’s how it’s done:
- Power OFF your phone. This is important. You can’t boot to Recovery Mode if your phone is on when pressing the hardware button combinations below.
- Boot into the recovery mode with these steps:
- Press both Volume Down and Power buttons and hold them together.
- Once the boot menu or logo appears, release the buttons.
- Now choose the Recovery mode and enter into it.
- You should be entered into the recovery mode.
- Under the recovery mode, tap on Wipe Cache Partition.
- Perform this action by following the on-screen instructions.
- Once you are done, exit this mode.
Reseat the SIM card
Sometimes, physically removing the SIM card from the device can fix network problems. If you haven’t tried this yet, be sure that you do. On GSM phones, inserting a SIM card automatically configures the APN and other cellular settings. If there’s an unknown network bug that causes the problem, this troubleshooting step may help.

Check for updates

- Now, long press the power off word on screen.

- Select to reboot into Android Safe Mode.

- Observe the phone and check for the problem.
If “Emergency calls only” bug goes away on safe mode, that means you have a bad app installed. To identify which of your apps is causing the trouble, you should boot the phone back to safe mode and follow these steps:
- Boot to safe mode.
- Check for the problem.
- Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
- After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
- If your Xiaomi Pocophone F1 still has the same problem, repeat steps 1-4.
