Airplane Mode, also called Flight Mode, is a feature in your Samsung Galaxy S10 that seamlessly deactivates network services such as texting, voice calling, mobile data, Bluetooth and wifi when enabled. As the name suggests, it’s a handy shortcut when you want to turn all the said network functions in one go when in a flight. The name comes from the usual prohibition of most airlines to disallow radios in their aircraft. It’s not restricted for use when travelling though. You can use it anytime you want and can sometimes be an efficient way to save battery life. Your phone’s radio and other network functions are constantly one of the factors that consumes power. Turning them off with Airplane Mode can significantly boost battery life. Learn how to turn on Airplane Mode on Galaxy S10 below.
When on Airplane or Flight Mode, wifi can be selectively allowed to work. The same is true for Bluetooth. If you only need wifi, which uses less power than cellular data, for internet, you can turn it on even when the device is on Airplane Mode. After you enabled Airplane Mode, simply turn on wifi to use it.
