The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is last year’s flagship model which introduced several new features to the premium phone model of the South Korean company. This phone ditches the physical button allowing it to have more screen real estate. It uses a 5.8 inch QHD Super AMOLED display which is also called an Infinity Display. The phone also sports a powerful Snapdragon 835 processor combined with 4GB of RAM allowing the device to run any app smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 connects then disconnects from charger issue and other related problems.

S8 Connects And Disconnects From Charger
Problem: Battery problems: I have had my phone for a while now, this October will make it a year and I’ve never had much issue until last week. I realised that while charging it it would connect and disconnect quit often then I’d get the irregular charging notification but once it’s become stable it would go away. About Friday last week I realised that the battery would be dying really quickly. I plugged it in to charge and realised that it was falling while charging. It was at 73% if I remember and it kept falling by 3% to about 61% then it would stop then take hours to reach a 100. I thought it was the apps so I got rid of a ton of them and even now as I’m typing I just plugged my phone out once it said 100 and now it’s at 73% and 10 mins haven’t gone by yet.
Related Problem: I’m getting the USB connected and disconnected when using a plug in or the wireless charging. I can’t get rid of it showing constantly. My phone is draining quickly with these actions taking place. I’m real I’ve had this phone for 1 year . I’m ready to get an iPhone.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris as this could cause charging issues. Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone again with a wall charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to eliminate the possibility of the charger causing the problem.
In case the issue persists then this might already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty charging port. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I dropped my phone while I was on the river, and it got wet. I took it out of the water, took the cover off, and let it dry. It got really hot for a while. When I got home, I placed it in warm oats to let it dry. I took out the sim card and . I tried to reset the phone pressing volume down- power buttons. Nothing works. The phone won’t charge or turn on at all. Is the phone just a brick now? Is there nothing I can do to fix it?
Solution: Although this phone has a water resistant feature there are still instances when water can enter the device. This usually occurs when the rubber seals that prevents the water from entering the phone gets damaged. In this particular case where the phone does not work after falling in the river the best thing that you can do is to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S8 Stuck On Boot Logo
Problem: I have a Galaxy S8, it doesn’t switch on by itself BUT the moment I switch it ON, it goes to a stage where it displays “Samsung Galaxy S8” then it switches off again by itself. from there it continues switching On and Off by itself.
Solution: If your phone has microSD card installed then I suggest that you remove this first as this might be contributing to the problem. With the card removed restart the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the problem persists then you should perform the additional steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
