7 Best Fitbit for Women in 2019

Fitness accessories are available in abundance out there. While most fitness bands are gender neutral, we are not surprised if you find that some of them are more comfortable for men. However, there are some truly gender neutral fitness accessories, prominently from Fitbit that we’re going to talk about today.

These fitness bands are ideally suited for women (and men), while the company doesn’t sacrifice on its performance aspect either. So without waiting any longer, let’s take a look at the seven best Fitbit for women.

Fitbit Zip

This is a pocket sized Fitbit ideal to be carried around in your bag. It’s small, which means it can fit inside your pocket as well, while there’s provision to use it as a clip. A slight shift from Fitbit’s traditional hand-worn activity trackers, the Zip was designed for those who want the elements of fitness tracking without having to wear a silicone strap around their arm all day.

The downside here is that it can’t track your sleep, which makes it limited to being a fitness tracker that can count steps and provide calorie burn information.

The small display on the Zip offers a smiley face which expands in stature as you increase your activity everyday. But for a product that’s marketed as the entry level Fitbit, we don’t have much to complain about. The Fitbit Zip is available in a handful of colors, including Charcoal, Lime, Magenta, and White.

Fitbit Flex 2

The Flex 2 is an everyday activity tracker with the goodness of Fitbit. While it’s slightly more expensive than conventional fitness bands, it’s certainly one of the best in the league. Unfortunately, it lacks a display, so you can’t read the data right there. However, thanks to seamless syncing over Bluetooth with the Fitbit app, you can be assured of getting the accurate results for the distance you’ve covered over a period of time.

To compensate for the lack of a display, the Flex 2 can track your sleep and offer additional insights through the dedicated app. It also gives you information on the amount of calories you’ve burnt. There are colors like Black, Lavender, Magenta, and Navy, offering something for everyone.

Fitbit Alta HR

A slightly modified version of the Fitbit Alta, with the major change being the presence of a heart-rate sensor. The Altra HR comes with a multitude of customization options, offering you the ability to pair it with your outfit of the day. The device also offers all-day continuous heart-rate tracking, which will give you crucial insights on the patterns of your heart beat. This can be a life saving feature as several cases have already indicated.

In addition to being an excellent fitness tracker, the Fitbit Alta HR can also receive notifications like messages, incoming calls etc from your paired smartphone. So it’s a lot more than just a fitness band.

It’s slightly thicker than the Flex 2 given that there are more sensors on board, but it doesn’t feel heavy on the wrists, making it ideally suited to be worn throughout the day. The Alta HR can be purchased in colors like Black, Black/Gunmetal, Blue/Gray, Coral, Fuchsia, and Pink Rose Gold, so there’s no dearth of available color options.

Fitbit Charge 2

The Charge 2 can offer pretty much the same kind of metrics like the Alta HR, but with a few notable additions. It’s slightly bigger and includes a feature which tells you the number of floors you’ve climbed in a day. You can also set personalized breathing sessions determined by your heart rate.

The Charge 2 is basically one of the higher end fitness bands available from the manufacturer and is designed for athletes and those who want access to all the detailed metrics involved in fitness.

Naturally, it can also receive notifications from your smartphone, which is in line with any other Fitbit smart wearable. You can set customized alarms to be woken up peacefully by gentle vibrations on your wrist. My favorite feature, however, is the ability to track your workouts and find out the fat burn rate, peak, and cardio data using the simplified heart rate zone feature.

Fitbit Surge

This is an even more advanced Fitbit for the enthusiasts as it comes with features like GPS, allowing you to go on runs without your companion device or smartphone. The device also comes with continuous heart rate monitoring, and simplified heart rate zones as well, making it an extremely versatile fitness band.

The touchscreen display gives you access to music control as well as device notifications, which explains why the company calls this a “Superwatch”. Sleep tracking is included by default, naturally, and there are silent alarms to wake you up peacefully.

Given that it’s slightly more feature packed than the rest of the Fitbits trackers on this list, it is slightly heavier on the arms too. But the weight is not significant, so the users probably won’t even notice. It is advised to refer to the size guide offered by Fitbit on its site before getting the band suitable for you. The company currently offers Small and Large bands in Tangerine and Black colors.

Fitbit Inspire HR

Coning up next on our countdown, we have the Fitbit Inspire HR. It comes in a couple of beautiful and vibrant colors, but at the heart of it is fitness and heart rate tracking. It comes with 24/7 heart rate tracking, which gives you an accurate estimate of calorie burn, resting heart rate, heart rate zones during workouts, and more.

And because of the five days of battery life in the Inspire HR, you’re able to track sleep. Pair that sleep tracking up with the heart rate feature, you get more insights into your light, deep, and REM sleep stages.

It’s able to easily track your workouts as well — you can automatically and conveniently record workouts like walks, swimming, and bike rides in a snap with the built-in SmartTrack software.

Fitbit Versa

The Fitbit Versa is closer to a smartwatch than anything. It still has all of the excellent features that Fitbit activity and heart rate trackers have, but you also get the added benefits of  call, text, calendar and smartphone app notifications when your phone is nearby. You can even send quick replies right from your Fitbit Versa.

On top of that, you can access your favorite apps for sports, weather, and more. This one only has a 4-day battery, but you still get those sleep tracking abilities here.

Verdict

As you can see, there are tons of excellent Fitbit options for women. All of these have their own unique styles and designs that will really make them stand out from the crowd. That said, the function of most of these Fitbit options are fairly similar — you get activity and sleep tracking, long battery life, a step tracker, a clock, and depending on the Fitbit device, possibly some smartwatch-type functionality as well.
