You Can Now Download the Google Camera 7.0 App from the Upcoming Pixel 4

While the Pixel 4 is still some distance away from breaking cover, customers interested in taking its camera app for a spin can do so thanks to a new leak. This allows users to download the Google Camera 7.0 app that is set to debut with the Pixel 4. However, there are a few caveats for users who intend to download it right now.

Firstly, not all of the prominent Pixel 4 camera changes are present in the app. One of the biggest changes with this update, however, is the increased emphasis on the live viewfinder preview while also adopting a more minimalistic user interface. The zoom marker now gets a bar of its own to indicate how much you’ve zoomed in or out on the viewfinder.

While opening this new camera app for the first time, users will notice a warning saying “Camera dofgood is confidential” while the home screen icon denotes a dog paw, suggesting this is an early build meant only for internal Google/Android engineers to try out. So if you install this on your phone right now, all you will see are the minimalistic UI changes, while the more advanced camera features will probably make its way to the app after the Pixel 4 release.

Recent reports indicated that Google is looking to announce the Pixel 4 as well as a new smart home speaker dubbed the Google Nest Mini during the course of the event.
